We're building a home! It's so chaotic! My issue is that I'm actually scared to choose colors for our house! Such as back splash for the kitchen or paint! I always seem to go neutral, but I really want to step outside my box. What colors do you guys have in your house? Walls, ect.
I like vintage things with modern twist.
Re: Building a home HELP!
I hired an interior designer as I am a decorating dummie. Best money I ever spent.
(Was $75 per hour) - and you can accomplish a great deal in one hour. We had 2 sessions with her - exterior choices, room colors, furniture arrangement, kitchen countertops, flooring,
window treatments. She gave advice on what else we should look at purchasing etc.
We left all our walls white. Once we lived there for awhile and saw how the lighting was, only then did we choose wall paint colors. Same with a back splash.
The hardest part was picking colors. I stepped out of the box with my office/library by painting three walls a light grey and the accent wall an apple green. It looks amazing. Other than that the house is beige or tan or light blue. The kitchen was the hardest for color coordinating. I wanted dark cabinets and then we picked a flooring and then backsplash. We are currently trying to figure out a countertop.
Go with colors that you like. Painting is easy to change, but things like backsplash is not.
Also a lot of painting stores will have cards that will show you wall color, trim color, and what colors would work best for decorating that room.
