Re: QOTD 8/14

  • I used to get detention all the time. Mostly it was for talking in class but a few times it was for fighting...I was kind of a bully in elementary school. I've never been suspended.

  • Almost in 8th grade, twice. One for playing in the reflection pool in dc (it was drained). Guy friends said they took my purse and I was only trying to get it back...

And then after school, they actually did take something of mine and I ran after then into the boys locker room. Principal just told me to stay out of the boys locker room or he'll skin my head haha.

  • I don't think so, and I was awful!  I have no idea how that is even possible.
  • I got kicked out of my sophomore english class once for singing Hakuna Matata. But never sent to detention or suspended. When I was sent to the principals office for the above mentioned singing incident, the principal looked up my grades, said "oh, you have an A in the class right now, are you bored? Go back to class..." so I told the teacher that and she was fine!

  • I got lunch detention 2 or 3 times.  Mostly it was for coming to school late without an excuse, (you could only use the "my hairdryer broke" so many times) and once for skipping a field trip.

  • Lunch detention once in seventh grade for a bs reason. Myself and about 20 other students completed the math homework assignment "incorrectly". The trencher was awful and made everyone come in for detention. Other than that, never. I was a really good kid.
  • One detention in 8th grade and I was devastated.  We lived outside of our school district so my grama had to take us to school every morning and she was always late picking us up which made us tardy.  after 3 tardies you got a detention so I ended up with one.  I was so upset :(

  • Senior year of high school I got detention.  It was in the spring I didn't want to go to school.  It was a rainy, slushy, stay in bed kind of day.  I went to Catholic school and your parents had to call you in sick.  As soon as I mentioned cutting, my friends started calling.  I wanted to chicken out by 3 people called in already, so I had to.  They caught on when I called and called all of our parents (except mine, for some reason they didn't have either parent's work number).  We went to my friend's house and her mom was waiting for us and brought us back to school.

Seniors had 8th period free, so for like a week we had 8th period detention.  My school also had second homeroom after second period, it was like 18 minutes and my lunch period, and we weren't allowed to go to the cafeteria for second homeroom.  For like a week I ate vending machine food in the hallway between classes to substitute for no lunch.  Technically though, I never had detention.  Formal detention at my school was Friday afternoon and I never had to sit a Friday detention.

I never had detention or got suspended. I was a very good student.

When I was in 1st or 2nd grade, my teacher decided that she didn't like me, so she sent notes home every day for an extended period of time saying that I was talking in class. She ignored my Mom's attempts to get ahold of her to discuss the issue.

Finally, when my Mom talked to the principal, it came out that I was talking in class, but only after I had finished my work and I was talking with another student who was finished working, too. And, we were talking about the assignment. The teacher just decided she didn't like me, for whatever reason.

Teachers that pick random kids to give a hard time each school year bug the crap out of me!

  • I got detention for being late to school too much. The teacher knew it wasn't my fault, my mom took me to school every day since I lived just outside the school line and she also would drop my bro at the middle school next door too but she still gave me detention with the warning that she would fail me if I keep being late to school, meanwhile I had an A in the class.

  • Never, I was a good kid! The only time I ever got in trouble was when I said "sex" in 3rd grade. I had to call my mom and tell her, that was it. My freshman year of high school they tried to give me Saturday School because I was tardy constantly. It was my brother's senior year and he had a free period 1st period, so he didn't care when we got to school! I explained the situation, they verified with my mom, and they gave it to him instead. :P
