s/o lesser known books by authors. What do you like better?

Do you ever find that you like a book more than the one the author is known for?

Like, I always thought Unbroken was far better than Seabiscuit (though I read that one so long ago).
I liked The Host better than Twilight, and The Loop is far better than the Horse Whisperer.

What about you?
My favorite place on earth: The Amargosa Valley.

  • Firestarter is my favorite SK book, but it doesn't seem to rank very high on other people's lists.

  • For me the ones that come to mind are:

I preferred Angels & Demons over The DaVinci Code. I remember when The DaVinci Code came out "everyone" preferred it over A&D.

  • I like Richelle Mead's Dark Swan series better than Vampire Academy.  Also Susanna Kearsley's Mariana over The Winter Sea.  However, that could just be a product of it being older, not less liked.

Me too! I enjoyed the snarkiness of VA but I really like the story and characters in DS better.

Same here. I like the Odd Thomas series better then other books by Dean Koontz. I really liked Northanger Abby as much as Pride and Prejudice. I am not sure what Jane Austens most well known novel is but those two are my favorites. The Thief Lord, better then Inkheart.... man I just keep thinking of more each time I save this comment.

  • I liked Deception Point better than The Davinci Code or Angels and Demons.

My favorite Anne Rice book is Memnoch the Devil, though she it's not her most famous one.
