It's her birthday!

So, it's Julia Child's birthday today and it brought back memories from when I first cooked some of her recipes w/ my mom. I also read the Julie & Julia book a long time ago! Anyone know of any other great books about chefs? I'm always looking for a good read that makes me even more of a foodie than what I already am

  • My Life in France is fantastic.  And I LOVE that GIF!  Hysterical!  I also read Julie Powell's other book, Cleaving, but it just made me want to do to her what Julia is doing in the gif above.

  • I love Ruth Reichel's books - food and memoir - really well written.
  • Thanks @sassypants527 and @sneetches I'm going to check out those books. BTW @sassypants527 I read that book Cleaving as well and you are so right -- I seriously was so annoyed w/ the author! She was this totally different person in comparison to who she was in her first book!

  • I have read a lot of great books with cooking as a main theme. Here are a few of them:

The School of Essential Ingredients by Erica Bauermeister (there is a sequel that I didn't like as much called The Lost Art of Mixing)

And from Barbara O'Neal, every book she has ever written:
    The Lost Recipe for Happiness
How to Bake a Perfect Life
    The Garden of Happy Endings
    The Secret of Everything
