Happy Thursday!

Good morning all!
Today I have lots of errands to run, and i need to clean the house. My sister and niece&nephew are coming Saturday!!! I'm SO excited!!! They haven't been here before, and last time they were supposed to come they didn't. I'm pumped!
So I have to clean everything, go to Best Buy, go to the mall, the grocery store, the library. Agh! I already crossed "go to Mass" (it's a Holy Day, the Assumption of Mary) off my list, so that's one down, a million to go.

What do you all have going on?

Re: Happy Thursday!

  • Nice work!! Up here in Canada it's not a Holy day of obligation. We really only have Sundays and then Christmas and the feast of Mary, Mother of God (January 1). All other days of obligation we move to Sundays. It's kind of crazy how we have so few and then small countries where going to Mass is super hard they have a tonn. Oi! Also crazy that it depends on where you live. I have a friend who has moved here from Texas and she is always like is today a day? Because she knows it is back home but isn't sure here.

Today is going good so far! Not as busy as yours jlq. We took Bauer for a walk and since ds was up at 6 (not cool!) he is now down for a little morning nap so it's just me and the daycare girl. I might regret him going down now if he doesn't go down later but he's exhausted. He's not fully sleeping yet, he's making a few random noises, but at least a rest is good. The rest of my day hopefully involves both of them napping and me prepping the spare room for the dog/house sitter, rewriting my packing list for the cottage and maybe making some more muffins if I have enough almonds to make flour. And of course having a cup of coffee and doing the dishes which happen every nap time.
  • It is weird how different areas have different Holy Days. Some of them here get moved to Sundays, but most of them are their own day. I kind of like it. I like having an extra day of Mass during the week. I never like when the Holy Day falls on a Friday or Monday, because then you're just going 2 days in a row. haha!

How is your day care-ing going?! Sounds like you're having fun! When are you leaving for vacation? I think I missed it. But it sounds wonderful.

We got in my car to go to the mall, and it started making this super loud clicking noise behind my dash. Not good! I'm annoyed. Of course all this happens to me.

  • Hidey ho. I had a super short day at work today and I like it :-D so now I am at home lazing around.

I hope your day is productive jlq! I don't mind a long to do list as long as my day is actually productive. I hate when you have a lot to do but you can't get a lot done.

  • Daycareing is going well! I'm enjoying it and Charlie likes having someone to play with I think. They were on holidays last week and every time he'd come down from his room he'd been looking for the little girl. So cute!!

We leave for our vacation on Sunday. We have a wedding Saturday leave Sunday-Friday and then have another wedding. Busy busy!

And in case anyone cared both ds and daycare girlie ended up napping this am. I woke them after 45 minutes we had lunch. She happily went down again but ds was not having it. I'm hoping he crashed before she gets up so I have a bit of down time. But C'est la vie!
  • My boss is away today and the rest of the university is closed - here's hoping I finish up early so I can go get my nails done!

Other than that, this weekend is my niece's birthday (she's two!!!) and I'm excited to see her!  I bought her two books but I need something else fun.  Not sure what yet.  We are also getting back to our wall project.  We took quite the break on it.  A little more drywall and then mudding and sanding is next!
  • Joy: Sounds like a fun weeend Joy! Shopping for niece's is the best!

JLQ: Have fun with yoru family!

Echo: Wow that is a lot of weddings. Enjoy the vacay!

  • Joy: what about craft stuff??

Degrea: these are 2 of our 6 weddings from June-November. Thankfully after these 2 there is only 2 left - one in September and one in November. I told dh that for the November one I might show up in track pants since I will be like 8 months pregnant and no doubt super happy to travel 2 hours for the wedding but its fine!!
  • Joy how about a membership to a local childrens museum or zoo?

  • Thanks for the ideas, guys!  I didn't check back here yesterday - I worked until 8pm.  BLAH!  Happy Friday!!

She loves blocks and building things so I was going to get her some Legos.  I might go check out some kids stores today in Center City.  Thanks for your thoughts!!
