Fitness Post!

How did everyone do this past week?  Obviously Amber beat us all with her 300 squats in one night! (I am trying to post a smiley face here, but I guess you don't have that option when you create a post?)

The good: I got all 3 of my running days in last week (3.5, 3.5, and 5 miles).  Thanks to little sleep and a few glasses of wine the night before, I had a horrible time with my 5 mile run and walked a ton.  I finished in an hour and a couple minutes, so just over a 12 minute pace.  I've been trying to stay at 11 or below, so I wasn't thrilled with my time.  But, I almost hit snooze and skipped going altogether, so I will consider the fact that I ran at all a win.

The not so good: I had some social plans last week that involved wine and beer, so it kind of messed me up.  I was supposed to do 2 days of cross/strength training, but I skipped them both.  Seeing Adam Levine last week really threw me off my schedule!

Re: Fitness Post!

  • Well if playing on the beach, eating my weight in hush puppies and drinking sweet tea counts as exercise, I did awesome......it's going to be rough getting back into zumba and pilates this week.

  • Well, everyone knows I did 300 squats!  LOL!   I actually surprised myself and worked out at home all weekend.  I usually find an excuse, but I said I'd do the challenge and I did!

In addition to the 100 squats, I did a songs worth of arm stuff and a songs worth of crunches.  I have a hard time counting, so I just put on some Maroon 5 and from start to finish I did whichever part I was working on.  I did that both Friday and Saturday.  Yesterday I just did the squats and a couple of crunches.  But, it's still better than what I have been doing, which is nothing!

Tomorrow I'm going back to the gym (which DID end up reopening) for Body Blast and I'd like to try to get to zumba one night this week, too.  On the days I don't go to the gym, I'd like to stick with the little routine I did Fri and Saturday.  I think it was 20 minutes or so, but I do feel like it helped.
  • I had hoped to make it out 3 days to run last week, but with last minute party prep & family in to visit, I only made it 2.  I did 2.75 miles both of those times.  I need a plan this week, but I do hope to get out 3 times and do 3 miles each time in preparation for my upcoming 5K!!

  • Oh and can I vent here for just a moment?  I first started this whole thing because I have high blood pressure...it's genetic from both sides of my family, I know I will need meds for the rest of my life and I'm ok with that, I've been on them for 10 years at this point.  But, I thought if I started to exercise for the first time in...nearly ever, that maybe it would go down just a bit.  even a teeny-tiny bit!!

Negative.  It's actually started to creep up.  UGH!!!  I feel betrayed by the medical community.  what a rip off!

Not a stellar week for me since dh went out of town some and I was out of town too. I got 1 Zumba class in. I did get 3 runs in although 1 was not that great. We were at a campground so I did 1 run there and it was just not the best running area!

I did 5K last night and kept my pace at 9min/mile. I'm pretty happy that I've been able to knock down my pace!

This coming weekend is my next 5K race. I'm hoping it is better than the last!

On the bad news my eating has been crap lately especially with being away this weekend. I am hungry all the time since I started running! I feel like it defeats the purpose!

  • My week of vacation and needing to do extra pool maintenance killed my desire to run last week. I was going to get up and run today but I didn't.
    :(

I still may get out tonight... should be easier today as I am working form home. then plan on another run Friday and Sunday.
  • Last week I re-committed to working out...since our vacation is only 2 months away and my body is nowhere close to ready. I did Jillian's NMTZ work out 4 days last week.   Friday I walked/ran on the treadmill since it was raining.  Saturday we did a 9 mile bike ride, and I opted to pull the trailer with the kids (usually DH does it).

Sunday I did Jillian's NMTZ again.  Last night I took the day off, but my plan moving forward for this week is 3 more NMTZ and 1 more bike ride.

  • Since I've been home and we've been paying for Logan and I to have gym memberships (or a kids club membership), I recommitted to classes. I've been pretty good on an every other day basis, but I haven't been watching my food intake as much as I could. I keep telling myself that even a little bit of exercise is more than what I had been doing. :)

  • I have the T25 DVDs, but haven't started.  I am scared, but I know I need to workout.  Tell me I won't die.  :-O

Also, love the Fit Club idea!  So great of you!
  • I did get on the treadmill saturday and it felt good! Then didn't do much all week. Will for sure next week. Ha. DH is away all week and called to tell me he has been doing the treadmill and maybe he will do the next 5K too. Trying to get me movtivated of course. lol. Every week I say I am going to start the Jillian Michaels Body Revolution set I've had for months. Only 30 mins. Maybe this week. Ha.

It's not that bad...I have my Challenge Groups so it makes me accountable to my challengers to make sure I have worked out. Send me an email (kristininpa at gmail dot com) and we can talk T25 tips!
