Thursday Randoms

Because we have to have one post today!

Re: Thursday Randoms

  • I got carded at the state store last night!  I wanted to hug the cashier, but then I was afraid she'd think I was already drunk and wouldn't give me my wine.  I'm pretty sure I had the biggest smile on my face though!

My co-irker is on my very last nerve.  I have 3 huge events over the next week. (Orientation, a competition where our students present projects and graduation ceremony).  I am the one that makes these events happen.   She shows up and pretends to be busy.   She is emailing me about booking a room for her in SEPTEMBER.   First of all, I'm not the secretary, so she can/should do it herself.  She just doesn't know how to use the system, but blames it on her computer.  (When it's user error).   UGH!   Right now, my thoughts do not go beyond next week, September can wait.  She HAS to do this this week?  Thank goodness for the aforementioned wine.
  • Work is sooooo boring. I have things I could do like call the vendor who I have tried to get a price on tables and chairs from but i don't feel like it. I want to go home and take a nap.

  • I love getting carded!  (not that it happens often, but it's still nice)  Once Rich and I were out and the guy at the door carded me, but waved Rich along.  I laughed so hard!

My lunch consisted of a piece of cookie cake.

I'm so boring, I have nothing else.
  • we have a neighbor-adult swim planned for Saturday and I am annoyed it may not even be warm enough to swim. Stupid early fall. And I know the second we close the pool for the year we will get a ridiculous heat wave.
  • I have nothing.  Just nothing!!

students come back next week....Oakland is going to be completely different.

  • Also, I had to walk up to Montefiore yesterday morning...O.M.G.  I forgot just how steep that hill is, it's been a looooooong time since I've gone anywhere north of 5th ave in Oakland.  it's a good thing my legs are in a little bit of better shape than in past years, otherwise, I don't know if I could have made it up!!

You could have gone into Kaufman at the bottom then taken the elevators to the Monte bridge. ;)

Damn!  You know, as I was trudging up there, I was thinking to myself that there had to be an easier way!!  Then, of course, I got lost once I was actually IN the building.  Then I got lost trying to get OUT of the building.  But at least it was all downhill on the walk back to my office!!

Every time I'm in Oakland and come down from the VA to Forbes, I feel like I'm getting a workout :-)

Daycare is closed tomorrow and my parents are picking Michael up and taking him overngiht to they can watch him tomorrow. I'm excited about some 1:1 bonding time with Jackson this evening :)

The customer service manager at one of our manufacturers moved to another job and it made me giddy that I never have to deal with her again! :-bd

It is pretty bad when everyone you work with asked if I saw the email because they knew how much I hated her. X_X

  • We got a survey from our builder today.  I was unaware on how much rage I had suppressed until I started filling it out.  At the very end they asked for an "over all statement of my experience" it had a check box asking if it could be used in promo materials.  I checked the box and took great pains to use words like amazed, beyond, and other words that would typically have a positive connotation and make them negative.  It was truly a literary accomplishment.  I also ran out of space in most of the comment boxes, as they were limited to 500 characters.

How exciting!   Our builder was K. Hovnanian.  We had 2 friends that used them and had great experiences, 4 months start to finish.  Unfortunately, we had nothing but issues.
