What's for dinner?

It always happens, I don't plan a dinner for Friday night. But I feel like I am growing tired of the default pizza/chinese takeout.  So what is your dinner plan for tonight?  I need inspired.

Re: What's for dinner?

  • I just did homemade chicken gyros, with roasted tomatoes and tzatiki on top. Served wrapped in flatbread.

    They cooked up really quick.

  • No plan here either, I'm terrible by the time Friday rolls around!  Last night, I fed my kids cupcakes, cheerios and kiwi for dinner, so clearly, I'm in a lazy rut, regardless of what day of the week it is.

anyway, it's Brian's bday, so we'll probably go out to dinner, so I'm now help in the suggestions department.  But it would be a good night to grill out burgers!

  • I usually don't cook on Fridays, either.   We always get a pizza.  I made brinner last night though.  That's always quick and easy.
  • I can't stand cooking on a Friday night so Im no help! Today is dd's last day of daycare so I figured we could take her out to her favorite restaurant (red robin) so that's our plan.

Last night was sloppy joes (pioneer woman recipe). Tomorrow will probably be homemade spaghetti

  • We grilled burgers last night. We are taking Madi to the drive in tonight, so I am hoping we can eat out. Or I will pick up a roteissere chicken from GE on way home.
  • We're eating out, but often I don't mind cooking on Friday because there is less pressure to get the kids to bed on time.

Brinner or something simple like chicken, sautéed veggies and noodles would be my choice. Or it might be cool enough for soup with grilled cheese. :-)

This is what I made last night :)

  • Cheeseburgers on the grill tonight. I'm still trying to find a good routine, so I already did Chinese on Monday and BK for the boys on Tues (DH worked way late and it was first day of d/c) so I shouldn't do takeout again tonight!

Do you have any chicken defrosted? I made a taco chicken bake the other night that was quick (40 mins) and really tasty. I shook taco seasoning on both sides of the chicken, covered it all with salsa and baked (uncovered) for 35 minutes. For the last 5 minutes, I added shredded cheese and baked until melted. Served it with a side of Spanish rice. :)

    My three sons!

  • well I just got chipolte for lunch. Which is usually pretty filling.  And I promised EJ to stop at the ice cream place after work today... so looks like I am going to have an arctic swirl for dinner and try to convince K that it is enough.
  • I just rearranged my Pinterest boards and made a "recipes I've made" board. If I pinned it there it's because I really liked it and would make it again. Tonight I made the Hawaiian Haystacks - delicious!

  • Sarah, I don't pin a ton, but that's how I tend to use Pinterest. I only pin the "keepers." Makes it so much easier to find things you know you love.

I may need to try your Hawaiian haystacks :)
