tv shows

So what is everyone watching on tv now?

I started Broadchurch which is on BBCA after hearing a good review of it.  So far 2 of the 8 episodes have aired and I have really enjoyed them so far.  it is only 8 episodes so more like a mini series I guess. Basically a small town crime drama.

We are watching House of Cards on netflix too, and are enjoying that.

Then of course Breaking Bad is in its last few episodes. I confess to watching True Blood and I like Newsroom on HBO too. I feel like everything is on Sunday nights on either AMC or HBO.

Re: tv shows

  • One of my favorite discussion topics!

Right now, I'm frantically watching Scandal on all of my lunch breaks so that I'm caught up to watch season 3.  Such a good show!!

Other than that, I'm watching Big Brother (please dont' judge me!), SYTYCD (anyone else watching this year?  So good!), Real Housewives of NJ.  That's it.  Slim pickings in the summertime!!

  • Emmy, where are you watching Scandal? My sister watched all of season 1 off our Netflix when she was home, and was trying to find season 2 so that she's caught up.

I stayed away because I'm terrible at watching shows and don't need another to get behind on.

I'm excited Breaking Bad is back, and we just started watching House of Cards. We hope to start watching the new Arrested Development season shortly. Has anyone tried it? Is it as good as the old stuff?

I'm also continuing to plug through the Dallas on my DVR.

Other than that, lots of Jake and Mickey Mouse Clubhouse. With a little My Little Pony thrown in for good measure.

  • haha, Lisa....the last part of your TV schedule sounds strangely like the one in our house!  Liam will FINALLY sit through one show in the morning so that we can get ready, but it can ONLY be Mickey.  No Elmo, no Bubble Guppies, nothing.  All Mickey, all the time!  Jake's rotation right now includes Jake & the neverland pirates, Octonauts, Sofia, and sometimes Scooby Doo or Doc McStuffins.

I'm watching Scandal on Hulu Plus, it's the only place I could find it. My coworker had a month long subscription while she was watching, then I've been doing free 1 week trials using various email addresses to finish out the last few episodes :D I think I have 4 more to go, I should get in one today.

  • Oh, Broadchurch started already? Oops. Will have to see if I can find the first two episodes and catch up. Love David Tenant.

The only thing my DVR records in the summer is Sullivan & Son. DH has a few shows that I'll watch, but I don't care about. And when we both have time to watch together, there are the last few eps of Warehouse 13 on the DVR from July.

I finished watching Buffy on Netflix, so now I'm alternating between watching Angel and watching/rewatching Doctor Who from the reboot.

I've heard good things about Orange Is The New Black, but I haven't tried it yet.

  • I feel so out of touch because I don't watch any of the popular series that it seems everyone else watches.  (Breaking Bad, True Blood, etc, etc, etc). I've never even heard of Broadchurch.   I don't like to commit to shows that I HAVE to watch every week to know what's going on.

Now that the Bachelorette is over, I really don't have anything that I'm watching this summer.  Noah likes America's Got Talent, so we usually watch that.  Oh, and I am watching Sister Wives.  So I guess that counts.   The rest of my alone TV time usually involves Investigation Discovery.  I love true crime shows.
  • Another Big Brother watcher here 8-|.   I am also watching True Blood, Magic City and dh is currently obsessed with Love it or List it on hgtv, so we watch that a lot.  America's got talent lost me about a month ago.  They drag it out too long and I lost interest.

  • CAMP!!  On Wednesdays NBC at 10:00.  Its really a fun show - takes me back to the fun movies with Bill Murray about summer camp.

Other than that I got sucked into Giuliana & Bill again but that's about it.  We actually watched a movie (Argo) last night b/c we were desperate.

  • I have been a horrible TV watcher lately.  There are so many shows that people rave about, but I just can't keep up with any of them (I've had a horrible attention span when watching TV).  I have been watching Real Housewives this summer (NJ and OC), but that's about it.  I'll be looking forward to the new shows starting in the Fall though!

Outside of Investigation Discovery, I think we're related! LOL

I think this Fall's line-up looks great and I told DH that we may need to look into a DVR again. (But I have to work out issues with our current provider first!)

    My three sons!

  • Watching Broadchurch too! Although, I still have to watch episode 2.

    Duck Dynasty just started again.

Breaking Bad and I watched the first episode of Low Winter Sun on Sunday.

We watch a lot of BBC, Discovery, and the Smithsonian channel. I also love Masterpiece Mystery.

  • Kris, what did you think of Low Winter Sun. It seemed like AMC was really trying to promote it, but we barely make it through 9 p.m. shows, we didn't try it.

I will give it another couple episodes. I read a lot of critics thought it was too much like The Wire but I never watched The Wire so I don't know. I'm not going to lie, I fell asleep in the middle of it but I recorded it so I can watch the end.

  • whodunit Sunday 8pm on ABC a "reality murder mystery game" its pretty good. and is ondemand. I can never watch anything at 8pm because that is when Adam gets ready for bed.

I watched American bakers but that was really short like 6 weeks...whodunit is over this week too..

I have seen bits of under the dome, but haven't had time to try and catch it on demand to catch up and I don't know if the whole season is on there to do it. I haven't looked even.

I would LOVE to watch whose line on CW on Wednesdays. I LOVE that show. but again it is on at 8 and CW isn't on demand =(

I am waiting for CSI and Grim to come back. the only two things I watch really.

  • In the summer I'm watching SYTYCD (yes, Emmy I'm loving it too and SO bummed there's no Pittsburgh tour date!), Project Runway, America's Next Top Model (such a guilty pleasure!) and Bachelorette (or at least I was).

Of course there's also the requisite Mickey Mouse Clubhouse as well.

  • We mainly are using Netflix and Hulu. We got rid of cable a few months ago. We are catching up on True Blood through Netflix. We started watching Grimm on Hulu and like that. I just finished watching Orange is the new black on netflix and liked it. Think I will start call of the midwife soon. Dh and I still need to watch the new Arrested Development

  • Steady shoes we've been watching have been True Blood, Ink Master, Hard Knocks on Hbo and a freaking lot of baseball. I watch sister wives, the little couple, Giuliana and Bill (though this one is starting to annoy me) and Dance Moms. SO ready for fall shows to start, though it gets watched around football usually.

And ditto the others, plenty of Sofia the First, Doc McStuffins and Mickey Mouse Clubhouse up in here:-/
