  @alyssaames that's amazing you don't pay rent. We live in a one bedroom apartment in Pasadena, which is part of Los Angeles county. While we have a relatively big apartment for the area we live in, it's really expensive and we are going to move before our next lease renewal in December. We are looking into renting a house since we aren't prepared to buy yet. We really want a yard for our dog.
  
  We'd love to stay in Pasadena but will be looking at various parts of LA to see what options we have. I'm sick of living in an apartment!

  I've talked about it before so I'm probably sounding like a broken record lol buuut....

  I'm about 45 miles outside of San Francisco in a super cute city with lots of wineries(my favorite thing about our city!). H and I are living at my mom's house with my mom and sister until we close on our new house, this month or next. I don't mind living at my mom's at all, we have the master bedroom which is very spacious and I love our house. I'm sure it will feel amazing to have our own space though and I can't wait to start decorating and renovating(less than a mile away from my mom's house..I mean we're going to need a babysitter nearby when we have kids!). For the most part H loves my mom and sister and doesn't mind the living situation, but we can all tell he gets grumpy sometimes being around us women all of the time, especially in our choice of tv shows lol.

  Eventually we'd love to move into a bigger house or buy my mom's house from her but we'll have to reevaluate in another 5 years to see where we're at in terms of our careers and babies :-)

  We are currently living in a tiny apartment that was listed as one bedroom but could totally be considered a studio. I think I've actually seen studios bigger than this. We will be moving by September though. Hopefully into a house, renting though.

  DH is in the Air Force and wants to go career taking the officer route. He says if he does that we'll have to move every two years. It makes me a little sad because I would love to own a house but I don't want to buy something I love only to have to move after two years. We probably won't own a home until DH retires. I've already told him we have to retire to Edinburgh, Scotland (one of the places we visited on our honeymoon.) So at least that will be nice.

  We rent a 3 bedroom house in a city in Iowa. It's perfect for our situation now. I've mentioned before that I am in the middle of the dental school application cycle, so I may end up staying in Iowa or if I get my way moving to either Omaha or Texas. Once we move we will probably rent for a minimum of 1 year to get acquainted with the area. Plus, H and I have committed to not purchase a home until we can afford a 20% down payment and the payments are less than 20% of our take home pay on a 15 year mortgage plan. But, we're young and have a lot of time on our hands.

  alyssa, why will you never own a home?

  We live in a town house on an old army depot. Cant stand it, but its cheap. Luckily utilities are included. Not sure if we ever want to buy a house, but I do want to live in a rural area. Or somewhere that I can be brown all year, lol.

  If we buy, I want it to be a new house. Im kinda liking modular homes because they are cheap and you can make em look exactly how you want them to. and once finished you would not know it wasnt a regular house.

  We're in Glendale, and we love it!  We have free overnight street parking- it's pretty awesome.  I had an apartment that had a yard in Altadena and it was pretty cheap, just a farther drive to the freeway.

  We just moved to Vancouver, WA, we got a two bedroom apartment for me, DH, and the puppy Its hard because I know even if we stay here we dont want to stay in this apt, its ok, but it def was just a temp thing because we had to move out here for my job. Right now we're in a slight emotional distress because we are loving the adventure out here on the west coast (originally from FL), but we dont feel like we belong here. We are thinking next July we will start trying for kids and will want to move back to FL to be closer to family, and I think thats where we do want to buy a house. We could afford for me to not to work if we decided to move back and I didnt have a job yet, but I'm very independent and would want to contribute financially. We will see what the next year and first of marriage holds

  Glendale is super nice! It's actually where I bought my dress and where we got our wedding bands. And that's amazing you have overnight parking! I wouldn't mind living in Altadena if we could have a yard. We might switch it up though and look on the west side or los feliz or silverlake. I like exploring new places.

  DH and I bought a house in January and we live on "the prairie", which is really just a small, unincorporated town in a very rural area.  I only have a 20 minute drive to work, but I drive by all sorts of farm animals and fields just to get into town.  It's a bit of an adjustment since we used to both live in the city before we bought the house and now we have to drive 15-20 minutes to go the grocery store, verses being able to walk there in 10 minutes from his parents' house.  In the winter, we could sometimes see a horse if we looked out our kitchen window in the farm that's across the street behind us (now that's blocked by leaves from the trees).  It's super quiet out here, and we love that it's so dark too because we have like 1 streetlight for the whole neighborhood.  We can see so many stars at night and when we first moved here, we realized we slept so much better because it was so dark!
