Wow, I feel old.

TN informed me that I've earned a 10th Anniversary Badge. My first thought was "No way. I haven't been here THAT long." Then I realized that I joined TK in 2003...and that's ten years ago.

Crap, where did the time go?

Re: Wow, I feel old.

  • That makes me feel like a giant newbie lol.

I saw your question on FB about novellas and have been thinking about it. Because I'm bored right now, I'll tell you: I like them when they involve secondary characters. If it involves the main characters, I prefer it be written into a book somehow. So if the question was a sneaky way of asking if Rachel should have a Sultry novella, yes please!
    :D

  • Sorry, it had nothing to do with Rachel. I can't even think about her until I finish everything I've got under contract. :(

Penguin asked me to write a novella that would be used as a promotional tool in launching the new series. They want to price it around $2 (ebook only) and release it in April, a month before "Make You Mine" hits the shelves. I'd like to price it even lower, since readers won't be familiar with these characters, and thus won't care about them. I guess we'll see. There's still plenty of time to figure it out.

  • That sounds tempting lol. I'm excited for your new series!

Would it be a book readers have to have read before beginning the series?
    image
  • No, it's not crucial to the understanding of book one, but it will enhance the enjoyment of it...if that makes sense. :) There are two minor characters in the first book, and the novella is the story of how they met, fell in love, etc. Then readers get to see the characters again (as newlyweds) in the novel.

  • I've been here 10 years, too.  I am afraid to see how quickly the next 10 go.

As for a novella?  If it's yours, I'll be buying and reading it, too.  :)

  • I have an 8 year badge, and I was trying to figure out why I signed up so long ago. Then I remembered that my college roommate and I signed up for accounts on The Knot so we could plan our fake dream weddings...haha.  Then I discovered The Nest boards a few years later.

I was on TK in 2000  first as a bride then in 2004 as an MOH. It's more hilarious to me that I've been a divorcee on a wedding/marriage site for almost 9 years now.

  • Unfortunately, I don't need a nest anniversary badge to make me feel old.  All it takes is a mirror.
    90 books in 2015?

  • I'm right there with you, booney.

Gotta go. It's time to take my Metamucil. lolz.

  • That's too funny. I joined in 2003 too but I think I ended up changing my name and didn't get married until 2005(we had to postpone).
