Traveling

I know I'm being a post whore today but it's so boring at work today and I have nothing to do.

When you decide you want to take a trip somewhere, do you use a certain website to help you book hotels or things to do? If so what website?

Or for those who don't use travel sites how do you plan your trips?

Re: Traveling

  • H and I try to check the website for the hotels first, sometimes you get really good deals. Other than that, we use expedia. We use Southwest for all our flights. We did use like cheaprentalcars.com for a car this summer and it was a great deal!

  • For hotels I usually use hotels.com or a site like that. For things to do I usually Google where we are going, look in Trip Advisor, etc. I guess I use a variety of travel type sites when traveling. There really isn't a specific one I go to first, it depends on the trip.

  • I go to Kayak which compares all of the major travel sites, then I always check the hotel out on Trip Advisor, or another site to make sure it's okay. I've also heard that you can call some hotel chains and they'll beat the online price, although I've never tried it.

If we don't care exactly where we stay we'll go to one of the travel sites where we can bid and try to get a room for as cheap as we can.

  • It depends. I usually check the hotels out on TripAdvisor, but also check on bedbugregistry.com and then use kayak to look at prices once we've narrowed down the hotel.

  • Depends where we are going. I recently discovered using Google maps for hotels and campgrounds. Just put in search criteria in the area you want to go to. We are headed to Niagara falls next Monday and that's how I have found the cabin we're staying in. I also use Expedia or AAA. I'm liking the Google aspect because I can see where everything is located.
  • Tripadvisor and Hotels.com are my go to sites.
