Re: Found on FB </3 NGPR

  • I thought you had adopted a dog a while back and then returned it, no?

  • We were in a program with a one week trial.
Didn't know that meant I couldn't share a post I thought the ladies on here might like.

You can share whatever you want, but unfortunately the Internet doesn't forget. The situation you had with the two dogs you took in and then gave back doesn't sit right with a lot of people here.
  • No...you adopted two puppies at once because you thought they were so cute and rather than rehome, the rescue grouped agreed to take them back, like most do. A trial program that keeps adoptable dogs unavailable from forever homes for a week? Newp.
  • I understand that. It wasn't an easy decision for us, and I still think about them all the time. Trust me, I know it was a shitty decision, that doesn't mean I need it thrown back in my face.

  • I'm sorry, but everything about that says that it's to see how well the dogs do in your home environment (short term foster). Not play house with puppies to see if you can get them adjusted & potty trained in 5 days. These things are different to me.

Interesting. I've never heard of such a thing. I am quite surprised, like @Panderp, that such a thing exists.

She did not approach this adoption from this vantage, if I am remembering the OP correctly. She fell in love with two puppies and needed them both. She was able to get out through this loophole. If I am misremembering, my sincerest apologies.
  • That is also how I remember it, @panderp
  • Damn. I'd like to induct all of you ladies into the honorary Pestie Club. I'd welcome you with open arms over on the Pets board!!

I wouldn't call it "active," since it's nowhere near what it used to be, but I try to hold down the fort with a couple of newer folks and some very dear old regulars. You can always PM me for pet help, too! If I don't know the answer, I'll send out the Pestie SOS. ;)
