Gift Ideas for 11 year old girl?
I'll apologize in advance if this is in the wrong spot, sorry!
We recently have been lucky enough to move nearby my little cousin (she is my uncle's daughter, but she lives with her mom and step-dad) and she and I have been spending time together as she doesn't really get to spend girl-time with her mom much. We'll call her Candace. Anyways Candace is turning 11 soon and I'm stumped as to what to get her as a gift. She is very particular in her clothes (or rather, her mom is--certain materials are off limits, along with any clothes that look "tom-boyish", certain brands, etc.) as we learned while helping them with back-to school shopping. I tried to look at different little things while we were at the mall the other day, but each thing that Candace liked her mom said no to (Legos "are for boys", plus her little sisters could choke on them--I can understand the concern about the little kids though; nail polish sets were "too tacky", it went on like that all day--ugh).
I'm leaning towards getting her a little gift basket from Bath and Body works with some cute girly lotions (they still make those, right?) or maybe some cute jewlery but would love some other suggestions. Candace loves animals, reading and "pretty" things, but I just am stumped. She did just get an iphone and an xbox for her birthday, but I don't know if I should look at getting some accessories for those or not.
Thanks for any ideas you guys have!

Re: Gift Ideas for 11 year old girl?
Unfortunately mom isn't much help. She says to buy clothes, but pretty much anything that is gifted to my cousin gets returned regardless of who bought it and more often than not she uses the money/gift card to get stuff for her other daughters (who are 3 and 1). When I talked to mom today she said to get her whatever, but to remember to bring a gift for the other girls so they don't feel left out.
I'm sure we'll find something for her.

And here's the games for Legoland Harry Potter:

One other thing - if you do buy a game, just check the ones that are rated E, because those are all ages and family friendly. They do make some nice games for a younger audience and you have a good variety of choices.
This was my absolute favorite book at that age:

Now that I see it's a set, I might buy it for myself hehe!
Or something like this if her mom would be okay with her keeping it in her room and using it when the younger kid is asleep:

And I totally didn't know they have "girl" legos now too. I loved building stuff with legos as a kid, but I think my cousin may enjoy these sets! They have so much neat stuff for kids now days!
Put in a lot of things she likes --- nail polish, a certain magazine, fun earrings, whatever she likes.
Get some of that shrink wrap from a craft store, the kind that uses a hairdryer to "activate" and cover the basket with that.
