Weight Loss

I know there are a lot of ladies on here that are either trying to lose weight to aid in TTC or have previously done so.  Did any of you who are still around feel that it really made an impact in your conception? I'm just trying to determine when I should start tx (aka clomid) and I've been waiting bc I wanted to see if weight loss helped trigger a BFP first. Or do you feel like I may be wasting valuable time and should just go ahead with both weight loss and tx. Any info/thoughts appreciated.

Re: Weight Loss

  • This is a very personal decision. I have lost weight but I don't think that has affected things that much, but I can't tell because of everything else I've been doing at the same time.

I do know people with PCOS where losing some weight helped them to o more regularly and then they got BFP's naturally. At the same time they were pursuing RE treatment and 'got lucky' in my opinion,

Go for it but I'd do both!

  • I think it depends on how much weight you have to lose and how your overall health is at this point.

    FET - BFN

  • Thanks ladies. Just kind of pondering out loud.

  • My cycles were completely regular before losing weight and I ovulated on my own then (and now).  I try to keep in mind though that if I ever do get pregnant, it'll be easier with a smaller body.

  • I've been trying to lose weight because I too will be started clomid in the next month or so. I've already lost 10 lbs and I feel like my cycles are more consistent especially with my recent Dx of PCOS. If you need a weight loss buddy, I'd love to team up and have the mutual support! Good LUck
  • @MrsS728 Sounds good. We can be accountabillabuddies, lol. :-) you can PM me whenever you want. I'm down 7 lbs today.
