this kid drives me nuts!!!
There is an intern at my office who DRIVES. ME. NUTS. He's so awkward and he makes awkward jokes and he stares in my office any time he walks by. Like neck-craning kind of staring. I guess I should say he makes me uncomfortable and kind of creeps me out more than anything.
I have a group of coworkers that I eat lunch with nearly every day, and when he first started he asked if he could join our group to eat. No biggie, we didn't mind. I've been trying to work out more and eat healthier, so I tend to bring really healthy lunches.. I've been trying new recipes, trying organic stuff ive never had before, etc. He makes jokes about the food I eat and comments incessantly how unhealthy/healthy his food is. He just turned 21, so all he can really talk about is drinking and bars and going out. I'm only 25... but I've never been a big fan of 'going out' in that sense. I guess it just drives me nuts because I feel like he doesn't quite understand how to be interested in anyone else. He somehow always brings the convo back to himself. I've taken to eating lunch in my office to avoid him most days. I am really thankful that his internship ends next week!!
I started in this company as an intern myself, so I try not to judge because I know how hard it is to not only be brand new and but also trying to start out on a career path/gain experience. I just feel like he is so unprofessional and doesn't try hard to be respectful to others in the company. He must be a fantastic interviewer because he's worked for some pretty big companies in the past as an intern, but his demeanor around the office makes me seriously wonder how he got hired in the first place.
This seems like an obvious question, but: Has anyone else had a coworker (temporary or otherwise) who just bothers you? In a non-work related way?
