AW & WWGPMD - u/s and a question

Hi Ladies! We had our second u/s yesterday. Baby is doing great!  HB is 138 bpm!  Baby is also measuring 6 days ahead.  Yesterday, I was 6w6d based on my O date.  Baby measured 7w5d.  My RE said my EDD would be 4/5/14 instead of the 4/11/14 that FF calculated based on O date.  Should I change my thinking about my due date based on baby's measurements or keep it where my O date calculated it?  I love the idea of thinking I'm almost a week ahead of where I originally thought I was...but I don't want to assume that's the best way to do it.  I don't know.  Thoughts?

Here was baby yesterday!  We're telling my ILs tonight and my parents tomorrow!  I'll make sure to post a pic of how we do it!!

Re: AW & WWGPMD - u/s and a question

  • Definitely go by the EDD the doctor gives you because it's the one they will base everything on on their end throughout your prenancy. Mine had to be changed too after the dating u/s and we still go by that (except for me, I had to go back 6 days. Boo). When they measure a little bit ahead or behind in later weeks it won't matter as much, but right now they take it into account for accuracy.

    So glad everything looks good!!

  • I also had a different EDD based on what I knew. After my U/S they changed my EDD twice. So far everything has been right on track with the EDD they gave me.

I'm not much help but I did change my EDD based on what the doctors told me.
  • My baby was measuring almost a week behind, but they haven't changed my EDD yet.  They said it's normal to measure a little ahead or behind in the beginning, and that they'll update the EDD at the next u/s.

  • i went by my O date, but it was only a day difference. the RE did the same but the OB was all confused and i got tired of explaining. the OB did change once (well, rather the techs did, but they were doubly confused) and i left it there.

in your case i would keep your O date EDD in mind because it really may be accurate when it comes to going in to labor.
Thanks to our wonderful RE our family is complete!

  • Awww! Yay for baby Jenna! And ditto the other ladies, it's normal for baby to be measuring a bit ahead/behind in the beginning, but the early u/s are pretty good at determining how far along you are. Actually, I was a bit surprised that you were able to see the hb at your last one, since you were only in week 5, so this one may be more accurate.

  • I had a two day difference between my FF O date EDD and the date they gave me so I justwent with what the doctor's said because they based everything on their date. I would keep your FF edd in mind but go based off the doctor's.

  • I would go with what the doctor said, but keep your original in mind if it comes down to an induction at the end, especially if you are pretty confident about your chart.

  • I went by my FF date with DS, but the u/s date was only 1 day off in the beginning. I ended up having him on the day I projected based on my FF o date and due dates. But I know that's rare.
