laryngitis :/

So my H got a bad cold and now has laryngitis. He works at disney and has only been there for almost 2 months. He went to work but now he is telling me he can hardly talk. he says if he comes home he will get a point for going home. I think he should come home and rest his voice NO TALKING. Anyways do any of you ladies have a quick remedy for him to get his voice back? He doesn't work tomorrow and i am trying to get him to come home to rest. He has to go back to work on sunday and he needs his voice. Any remedies that you ladies use?

Oh that sucks! According to WebMD, he needs to rest his voice, add moisture to the air with a humidifier or vaporizer, and drink plenty of fluids (I'd stick with water). It will heal on its own, if its not chronic, but he just needs to rest his voice. Hope he feels better soon.
  • Rest his voice, salt water gargle, plenty of soothing beverages hot tea with honey etc.

  • I agree with resting his voice and drinking hot tea with honey. Also with getting fluids in general like water or hot stuff usually helps to coat the throat better. Also maybe some throat lozenges like halls or something like that could help a little between drinking hot beverages.
  • Hot water with honey and cinnamon in it. hot water with lemon in it, hot teas, try oil of oregano, gargling warm/hot salt water, and yea.....not talking as much as possible....watch some movies or something so you can have some together time without as much conversation.
  • Thanks ladies we are trying everything! We don't know what to do since h is so new at his job he has only 3 sick days. I just hope he can get better. Otherwise he will get fired... He wants to get promoted but the wont if you call in sick with in that probation period. This cold came at a really bad time..
