Dragonfly in Amber (ns) Question (Possible Outlander sp)

I read Outlander ages ago because of this board and really enjoyed it.  I started Dragonfly but I couldn't get into it.  Now I can't remember why but I have been hesitant to pick it up again.  Is it worth it?  Does it take some time to get into it?  Are there new characters or still Claire and Jamie?  I feel like i was about 100 pages in but it's been a while.  Usually 100 pages is my limit.

On a side note, I still haven't tried to do a siggy but I'm always on mobile so I had no idea how boring my posts looked compared to everyone else's.

Re: Dragonfly in Amber (ns) Question (Possible Outlander sp)

  • Dragonfly in Amber is not my favorite, BUT, Voyager is...and you have to ready DIA to get there. So my advice is to keep going.

  • no matter if DIA is great, the series so far for me (on 6 and still in love)

  • I loved DIA but there are parts that are slow. I still think it's worth it because the end is so beautiful. There are new characters but Jamie and Claire are still the focus of the story.

  • Dragonfly is one of my favorites. Definitely keep going - you won't regret it. Especially since after DIA you get Voyager, the best book ever.

  • I remember having to power through parts of DIA, but I do agree that it is totally worth it.

I loved DIA so I say keep going. If you are having trouble with it still, maybe try the audiobook?
  • Read it.

  • Ok, thanks.  I've been in a reading rut lately and really need something to really get into.  I love series so I'll try again.  Maybe Voyager will be a nice reward for finishing.
  • Honestly, I've only read 4 (I think, maybe only 3?), and they all sort of run together for me - I forget where one ends and the next starts.  But I LOVE the series, so I agree with everyone else, keep going, it's totally worth it.  Especially if you really enjoyed Outlander in the first place.  There's nothing wrong with MORE Jamie and Claire!

    It's slippery as waterweed.
  • DIA was my least favorite out of all of them and took me awhile to get thru it-just keep going, you do need to read this one for the next one.
