What is everyone up to?

I am sitting in front of the tv, cooking dinner, paying bills and getting ready to start payroll. Blaahhh!!!

DH still isn't home and my pup is passed out :( I'm bored.....

Watcha ladies doing?

Re: What is everyone up to?

  • Nursing as usual....
DH should be home soon and then I'll hopefully have a chance to start dinner. I'm planning on salmon, zucchini Parmesan crisps and lemon rice.

  • That sounds really good!! Maybe I should steal some recipes from you ladies and try new things. I always end up doing the same things and get bored of it.

Tonight I'm making chicken fajitas, refried beans and salad.

  • @madeline10L, is your DH a sports fanatic? J can watch every single game on tv even if he hates the teams. Sometimes I feel like slapping him. LOL! Your dinner does sound yummy and now I want ice cream. :|

Speaking of laundry I washed my bedding and now I don't feel like making the bed. Why does life have to be so difficult??!!!
  • Made some wicked good mock chicken gnocchi soup. Now watching NCIS.

  • I'm counting down.. only 16 more minutes until I can leave work.. going to IL's for dinner so I don't have to cook. Very tired.. so looking forward to a relaxing evening.

  • @ream02, What time is it where you live? Also, enjoy your relaxing evening.

Thanks, I will! And I totally know what you mean. I love clean sheets, but putting them back on the bed sucks! lol

  • i have spent most of today calming a fussy baby. he will sleep for maybe 15 or 30 minutes, then wake back up again. I am hopeful he will sleep better tonight!

i have barely had the chance, but i put rice in the rice maker! wo hoo. that is often the extent of my dinner-making due to the demands of LO.

so we will have rice and left overs :-) unless DH has something else he wants to make. or if he will soothe LO, I can make something. I love it when he gets home and holds LO and I get to make dinner! seriously.

This happens to me literally every time I wash the sheets! I throw them in the washer in the morning, and then it's 10pm, we want to go to bed, and I never motivated enough to put the sheets back on,

That is me! DH and I usually go to bed around 10 or 11 and the sheets are dry and have been sitting in the drier for hours waiting to get put on the bed and I will have to do it right before we go to sleep cause I hate putting them back on.

I have found that the trick is to have multiple sets of sheets. when you strip the bed, you make it again (right then and there) and then you can wash the sheets or wait and throw them in with towels and other laundry.

it sucks when it is late, you are tired and have to make the bed!

Aaww. I'm really sorry about baby being fussy. :( I hope he sleeps through the night.

I also really wish DH knew how to cook. He probably could burn a noodle soup. If he knew how to cook that would make life easier. Lol.
  • @Cinderin, I agree being tired and having to make the bed sucks. I literally only have the one set so I have to wash then put back on, I do need to get another set though. I am trying to get motivated and go put them on right now but the couch is really comfortable.
  • I am avoiding doing school work.  I have to finish my seating and roster charts, and then I need to bake cookies for the custodians who have been amazing in getting my room the way I want it.  But boo - I can't eat the cookie dough!

thanks! he sleeps about 2 or 3 hour stretches at night, he has just been fussy today. he does get colic (often in the afternoon - around 2 PM and in the evening - around 9 PM). so I just do my best to calm him down, but there isn't much I can do a lot of the time.

Here's the recipes I used tonight:

    Salmon:

    I almost made this one:

    zucchini:

    http://www.foodnetwork.com/recipes/ellie-krieger/zucchini-parmesan-crisps-recipe/index.html

And the rice is leftover from yesterday when I made falafel and Greek rice:

    Falafel:

The falafel pita sandwiches were delicious.  I served them topped with the sauce, tomatoes, and lettuce.  Can't speak for today's recipes since they're just in the oven now.

  • I just finished getting things ready for work and daycare tomorrow. Made a grilled cheese and some goldfish crackers and I'm reading the boards while DH washes bottles. Almost time for bed.

This, exactly. This conversation might have actually motivated me to go out and get another set this weekend :)

  • Hahaha me too @lynn0514. I put the sheets on the bed finally (good thing, my feet just got crazy swollen and I would have dreaded doing it right before bed) but I think I might head out to buy a new set this weekend too.
