QOTD 8/30

How long is your commute to work?  What would be the max you would be willing to travel for work everyday?

Re: QOTD 8/30

  • Currently it's about 10-15 mins (less than 10 miles), it was 30 mins (17 miles), though I was looking into jobs that would increase my commute to 1 1/2 -2 Hours (50 miles) but it would be a better environment. We just have really bad traffic around me.

  • 7 miles... 20-30 minutes depending on traffic.

I wouldn't drive more then an hour. I'd commute via train up to an hour and a half. But I'd have to like the job a lot or be paid REALLY well!

  • Right now it takes me 40 mins to go 20-25 miles.

I did 1hr15 mins for 35 miles when I still lived with my parents - NEVER AGAIN.  I was also working 9 hour days and hitting the gym for an hour or two.  I would go home, eat and go to bed.

  • My commute is about 3-5 minutes, depending on traffic.  I have no stop lights on my commute, only stop signs.  I think my school is about 2 miles from my house now.

I'd probably go up to about a half an hour.  I'm not a morning person so a long commute would be bad because I would probably always be late for work.
  • 30 minutes in the morning 45 in the afternoon, about 15 miles. I was commuting 1.5 hours each way for a while and would consider it again for the right job, maybe.

  • We are about 15 minutes from work.  We were a little bit closer before we moved.  I think the furthest I would travel for work is about 45 minutes.  I have been spoiled the past few years though.  :)

  • I'm currently 30 minutes but it would be more if my employer didn't pay for me to be able to take the toll road. It's at it's max right now. I hate that so much of my day is on the road.

  • I'm about 13 minutes, 4.5 miles (all city so it's a bit slower moving). DH is only slightly further/longer. I probably wouldn't be willing to drive much further but I work night shift and long shifts (12 hours) so I'm exhausted leaving work and it probably wouldn't be safe.
  • Mine is about 20 minutes, but it's almost all highway and I go in early enough that rush hour is usually an hour later, so I don't deal with it. It's 10.5 miles away. When we move it'll be 8.5 miles away, but it'll still be about 20 minutes. It's all back roads then once we move! I probably wouldn't do more than 30ish minutes unless it was something I really, really wanted and the pay was good.
