where did August go?

I can't believe September is only hours away! How did everyone do on their August goals?

My goal was for us to stop buying take out as much, which included lunches and dinners. I think we did pretty well! There were some days we did buy lunches or dinner out, but very very few.

Re: where did August go?

  • My goal was to only eat out 1 time a week which I think we did really well on.  We did eat out twice this week though because we were tired, but all in all it was a great month!

  • Our goal was to start a college fund for DS. Well, we haven't officially gotten it opened because the fund we chose to use only allows enrollment from September through March or something- so I will be doing that soon. But, we did manage to put aside $250 for him, which is great! We did get a normal savings account open for him, and that already has $60 in it due to gifts he's gotten, so that's an awesome bonus.

Well overall we did good, but we didn't put as much in our house fund and regular savings account this month due to a wedding. Blah. O well, there is always next month
  • I didn't really have any goals for August. We made a big move from a studio apartment to a three bedroom and ended up with a very sick cat. However we cut back on eating out which is one big thing we were aiming to do.

  • Our August goal was to have spending money for our anniversary trip to Vegas...we did, and then won enough that the entire trip- including two very expensive dinners- was free! :D

  • I didn't do that great in August, so September I changed up the budget. I didn't eat out that much though so that was good!
