More False Labor

Another middle of the night round of painful contractions about 2-4 minutes apart. I was finally able to calm them down after drinking some water, but I was pretty close to heading back to L&D.

I have my doctors appointment tomorrow, so I'm going to ask if they'll do a cervical check to make sure it didn't do anything.

Hopefully this won't happen again until I'm truly in labor. False labor sucks...

Darn it seems like it always happens in the middle of the night too! Sorry and I hope thatthey hold off for a while and rthe next time it happens it is baby time

Thanks ladies. They're still there, but not as strong as earlier. I'm debating calling my doctor to try and get in today, but I doubt it would make a difference and I would rather try and lay down and rest. Maybe I'll even try to take a bath.

Booo for pain, but yay that your body is getting ready! Remember, every cm you dilate before you actually go into labor is one less you have to labor through!

I'm sorry you are going through this. In a way I wish I could get something to show me that my body is getting ready but nope nothing.

I hope the bath helps but keep us updated

I hope this time it actually did cause dilation. Last time it only mildly softened my cervix. I'll take any progress though. And at the very least I guess I get some practice with breathing through contractions.

Tips for other third tri mommas: Rocking back and forth while sitting and walking helped me get through most of the contractions. Laying down made them worse. Not sure if the same will apply for the real deal, but I'll definitely be trying it. Also, the shower did help (I decided on a shower instead of a bath because I was afraid of overheating).

An exercise ball can be a lifesaver at this point too! I couldn't sit for the last week and a half because her head was pushing out so I lived on my exercise ball! I even took a nap sitting on it and laying my head on the arm of the couch.

I have one, I just need to take it out of the box. Maybe I'll have DH blow it up for me when he gets home.

Ill definitely have DH set it up for me. I don't know how to work his air compressor or I would. I hope it helps, it sounds like it will.
