NBR: my coworker has my "phone" and i'm going crazy

So... I am doing a lot of Android testing at work, and a coworker needed to take screenshots on one of our devices.  It doesn't have a data plan, so there's a big glaring red ERROR icon at the top. I'm the only one in our general area who has an Android phone, so I stuck my SIM card in it to get rid of the error so he could do the screenshots. My actual phone is, obviously, out of commission until he's finished.  He's has it for over an hour.

Guys.... I CANNOT SURVIVE WITH OUT IT. I rarely get text messages, but I'm paranoid the ONE time i'll get something inappropriate, it will pop up on while in his possession.

I haven't done an ounce of work since he walked away with it. I've just been lurking all the nest/knot boards to keep myself sane. BUT Oh. My. God. I am going crazy.

Is there anything that you just can't live without? Or anything you didn't realize you couldn't live without until you didn't have it for a time?

  • OMG. I would never. I do get inappropriate texts, and frequently.

Too late now, but I would've put my phone on DND.

At the time I thought... screenshots take like 5 seconds. What could possibly go wrong?

I don't know if that would have helped as it needs to look like a typical user's device (which is why the no SIM card/no data error messages were unacceptable). Plus, he could just turn data right back on.

Going right now.  He has issues logging into something before, so i assumed that's what was taking so long... I am going to use that as an excuse to 'see how it's going'.

I don't want to look like the crazy I feel right now.
  • My life is a series of inappropriate texts. I would not allow this to happen.

  • I GOT IT BACK!!! AAAH.

Apparently, the last 20 minutes were spent trying to figure out how to remove his gmail account from the device because he didn't want his email to be linked to it anymore.  I feel like a genius in the office when I'm the only one who seems to understand how to navigate an Android phone.
  • Lesson learned, ya'll... Lesson learned.
  • I would get in so much trouble because I get and receive inappropriate texts all day long.  I'm nervous just having it on my desk and I worked in a pretty relaxed office.

  • you guys are scandalous.

I'll admit I occasionally participate in inappropriate texting, but it's not all that often. lol
  • Ha. I was getting help editing a video on my phone the other day at work and Facebook notifications kept popping up at the top of the screen. I kept thinking "Please, nobody say anything appropriate!"

haha oh no! Facebook for me would probably be way more likely to be inappropriate than texts. I probably would have been like 'oh let me disable those'... I'd be more embarrassed that they could see my conversation than anything I think.

If he had had needed ACTUAL phone though and not just my SIM card, it would have been a whole different story. There are some not-so-PG pictures on there
