Re: Weightloss Wednesday

  • I went to the gym twice last week, but I didn't make my 4 work out goal.  Boo!  Plan to go tonight, and I might do a zumba class at the gym after work tomorrow night.  I need to switch things up.

My chiropractor told me they do nutritionist stuff as well, so I wrote out my meals last week and gave it to them last night.  They will either consult me over the phone, or when I go next week.  I guess they will give me suggestions and tweak my meals... if there's interesting info given I'll pass it along!  I'm super nervous having other people see my log, esp since it was TOM and a super busy weekend.

  • Meh, I've been in a rut, but doing longish walks with the dog every day feels good.

  • 4 months ago I started taking pictures of myself to measure progress, as I don't own a scale.  (Scales are super triggering for me and I refuse to starve myself ever again.)  If I had the guts I'd post them here but I have to say that taking pics in the same outfit (sports bra and shorts) every 4 weeks in the same poses has been more helpful and inspiring to me than jumping on a scale twice a day.  I probably only lose a few lbs a month, but it really adds up.  More importantly I'm proud of myself for getting healthy the right way for the first time ever in my life.

  • When I went into the hospital on Saturday I was up 19lbs of water weight.  They put me on a water pill and this morning I was down 14 of those pounds!  I only have a couple visable edemas and 5lbs to go to be back to normal.

I'm kind of hoping that after I find out about my kidneys I'll be able to lose weight.  Knowing that my body isn't absorbing protein it would make sense why I've been at a plateau for so long.  Thinking positively!!

  • Frank139, I like your idea.  I may start doing it also.  It is disheartening when you know you did the right thing but the number on the scale isn't budging.

Seipel, I hope you get answers soon!

I have been much better since going back to work yesterday.  I am eating much less and making better choices.  I went to my friend with the snack bin and told me to not allow me to eat from it.  I also asked the cafeteria cashier to not allow me to buy chips.  My school district buys Italian bread from the best bakery in the area.  I told her absolutely no Italian bread either.  She told me if I come to her, she'll give me fruit.  I am trying to eat healthier.

Since I went back to work yesterday I was planning to go to the gym after, you know, start the school year in a good routine.  I worked until almost 5 and when I got home I was physically and mentally drained.  I just got home a little while ago and I still need to get food for dinner, so the gym may be pushed back to tomorrow.  I am off tomorrow and Friday for the Jewish holidays so I have no excuse for not working out.
  • Going back to work had helped me eat better, heck I actually get to eat! I'm trying to stay away from the scale otherwise i get all crazy with the numbers. I ran for the first time in forever on mon and went back to the gym today, I'm excited to go back and have to find the time, I almost had a melt down getting dressed for work tues morning bc nothing fits and I don't want to buy clothes in a bigger size:(

  • I'm down about 2 pounds. I'm losing around a pound a week, I believe. It's up and down some days, but overall I've been more active, so even though I haven't tried terribly hard, it's been enough! I need to start making an effort now!

  • I'm still trying to make myself get back into the workout routine. The eating is starting to go better. Between school and work, I'm hardly ever home for dinner and I never remember to make a lunch the night before. Ergo, in the morning I run around trying to grab whatever. So now I'm making one big crockpot recipe every night and freezing the leftovers. My goal is to fill my freezer with ready to go meals and not have to worry about lunches/dinners and actually eat real food.
