PSA: chobani

Chobani has released a bad batch of yogurt. There is an article with it, but I'm on mobile and everyone knows how computer illiterate I am so I can't figure out how to attach it.

Anyway, yogurt from Chobani with expiration dates between September 11, and October 4th is affected by it. Google the batch number because I can't remember it off the top of my head!

Just wanted to get the word out there so no one gets sick.

  • I saw this the other day! Luckily mine are fine but I wasn't too concerned anyway. A little upset tummy or exploding yogurt I can handle. Also, they said it smells foul... why would you eat it if it smells bad?

I hadn't opened mine to eat them yet, but they did smell. Maybe if someone had a cold or a bad sense of smell, or they were adding it to a smoothie, they might not catch it. Gross.

True. Hopefully no one ate theirs after it exploded.

  • I had to get rid of mine, too! This is not the first time I have been upset with Chobani... Guess I have to find a new brand!
  • I read the article about this yesterday, but totally forgot to check our stockpile that DH just bought. If he just bought them Monday, they should be fine, right? The article I read said more stores had already pulled them off the shelves.

  • I was so bummed about this because I eat Chobani every day... I guess it does happen every once in a while to food companies, it's just unfortunate it happened to Chobani.
I did tweet at them when I realized that I ate a yogurt and wasn't sure if it was one of the FLIPS that was part of the bad batch and they have a great customer service team that responded right away saying they want to replace my yogurt. I have to say, I was impressed w/ their speedy response!
