I forced myself to live cash-only for about a year right after high school because i had my debit card number memorized. it was a dark time for my bank account. It was definitely convenient, but I spent SO MUCH MONEY because it was easy.
  • A friend of mine has hers memorized so it's funny to me to see her order take out over the phone and not have to get her wallet

  • I can access the full card number for one of my CCs via my online account.... which is kind of scary if my info ever got hacked, but it's definitely convenient when i really want something and don't want to get up.
  • I have specificly tried not to memorize my cc # because it would be entirely too dangerous

I don't even know my own phone number half the time so forget about memorizing my debit card number.

  • I had mine memorized until it was compromised and I had to get a new card. My online purchases have decreased drastically.

Me too.  At least I did until I lost it and had to get a new one.  I'm working on getting this one memorized.

I am scared that once I do this, I'll be unstoppable.

  • I have my debit card memorized too.  I also know my SS#, mh's ss#, my mom's ss#, my bank account and routing numbers, my friend's bank account and her social.  I know my brother's social as well.

Don't ask but I've told them periodically that they need to keep me on their good side.  :o)

  • Well, I get to fill out all of the benefits stuff for my husband so it makes sense for me to have his SS memorized.  As for my brother's, I briefly thought his was mine when I first started working but I fixed it quickly.  My mom and I were going to start a business several years ago so I memorized hers and never forgot it.

I'm not sure why I know my best friend's stuff but I do.  And I've filled out enough direct deposit stuff in my life to know my bank account and routing numbers by heart.

I tend to memorize numbers like that by patterns so I do it easily with repeated use.

  • I do know one of my Visa numbers by heart but it is a card I hardly ever use (odd)
I know my bank accounts, ss#, dh's ss#, library number (of course), kids student pin numbers for school, etc all by heart.  I try very hard not to learn my debit card by heart. Scary stuff there.
