GTKY: Clothes

Where do you buy majority of your clothes? Why that store?

Re: GTKY: Clothes

  • Ross!! Because I can get like 5 shirts for the price of one if I shopped at the mall! Screw that! I love a good bargain. And they always have super cute stuff.

  • Eddie Bauer, and LL Bean mainly. I lean towards classic tailored pieces that never go out of style. I can't even remember the last time I went clothes shopping. I used to shop at B Moss and was horrified when they closed, I still havent found a store that is my go to place like they were.

  • I buy my jeans from American Eagle. I love the fit. I do get some tops from there but ONLY when they are on sale. I used to get most of my tops from Vanity but they closed the only one that was anywhere near us. :(  I get some from Dots, Marshalls, and TJ Maxx.

  • I love American Eagle for jeans because they fit me really well (although I went there this past weekend to get a pair and was disappointed in their selection :-/ ).

I like Express and White House Black Market alot (though I only shop at WHBM when I have a gift card or theres a really good sale)

And I'll usually look around in the department stores too- mostly in Macy's and Lord&Taylor

I had this problem a few months ago. I went in on a Sunday and the selection was horrible. I went Thursday and they had a whole new collection. I love the Kick Boot.

  • I love bargain stores like Ross, VF Outlets and TJ Maxx. Kohl's is good too since everything is always on sale. I feel like they've been really hit or miss lately though. I'm a HUGE Old Navy girl though. I've really been loving their stuff this year.

  • Target and Kohls are my main, but Marshalls if I feel like shopping

  • I like Target and stores like JcPenny. Also we have a couple of random stores in the mall I like. For jeans it's only Cavenders they are the only place that carries a size and fit that is comfortable for me and they actually keep in stock other places may have some but when I go look they won't have any in store and it's like hit or miss to find it.
  • H&m is my main go to....otherwise wherever has sales on!
  • I buy a lot at Maurice's. Especially jeans because they have lots of talls in stock. I buy a lot of my dress pants at the Limited or New York and Company because they have lots of tall panta in stock too. I also buy a lot at Target, JcP, and Kohl's.

  • Ann Taylor Loft is where the majority of my wardrobe comes from. I work at LL Bean, and if I wear jeans, they have to come from there. I also have to wear shoes they sell (hiking, trail running sneakers, boat shoes).
  • I buy the majority of my clothes at Banana Republic- they fit me really well, and I can usually find things on sale.  Still looking for the perfect dress pants though- and with working in a retail pharmacy, they HAVE to be machine washable, which eliminates so many options.

The Limited used to have The Perfect Suit. It was awesome and it was machine washable. I still have two pairs of the pants. I have no idea if they still have it though.

Thanks, I'll check them out!  My shopping options are limited, thank goodness for online shopping :)

  • I haven't gone clothes shopping in forever, but I window shop all the time :-) Target always has affordable options, and if I buy anything, I usually go to Dots cuz H is their financial analyst so I get an employee discount (like they aren't cheap enough). Plus, they always ask me what store I'm from when I whip out the discount card. I say my H works at home office in sales audit and no matter where I'm at, they say "Oh! You mean [H's name]? Yeah we know him!" And then I feel like I'm married to a rockstar :x
