CD1

Yesterday was CD90...
I finally started today. Idk if I should be relieved or cry.
Hopefully next cycle will be shorter and Ill get some answers in a week when I go back to my obgyn.

I hope I can treat myself to something horrible for myself after I get off work!

Re: CD1

  • Oh, the bittersweet moments of the end of a long ass cycle. Enjoy that treat tonight.

  • Don't you have PCOS? How long are your cycles normally? I am just wondering because my cycles would be much longer when I wasn't medicated or on BCP. Regardless long cycles do suck. What is this appointment for? Are you looking in to testing? I can't remember if you are on Metformin or if you were just asking about it. I remember you saying your endocrinologist was bad and you didn't like him. If this is in your siggy explaining everything, sorry! I am on mobile and can't see siggies.

Yes I have PCOS, my longest cycle before this one was 74days.
This appointment was for my 90day cycle, and I had been cramping specifically on my left side for the last 2.5 weeks, bad enough it would stop me in my tracks. Hopefully she will do some more testing and getting things going. I just hope AF coming doesn't put off testing longer.

I am on 1500mg of met., and yes I'm not impressed with my endocrinologist.
We will see how my appointment goes on Thursday to see if I should find someone else. (That appt is a 3 month follow up)

I just want at least a game plan moving forward on how testing/treatment is going to go. I'm hoping for good news at both appts. I'm going to talk to my dr about doing an HSG and trying clomid soon, if she thinks it's just the hypothyroidism and PCOS.
  • It sounds like you have a pretty good game plan. I hope your OB is on the same page. Have you been temping and seeing if you can catch ovulation at all? Or do you think you just aren't ovulating? Also, are you on levothyroxine at all for the hypothyroidism? I know my RE wouldn't allow me to do any treatments until my thyroid levels were under control. I don't know if she was just super strict about it or if that is standard practice. Also, my RE is the one that monitored my Thyroid levels while under going treatment. I don't know if you saw an RE you could step back from your endocrinologist.

Once again, the above is just my experience with all of this. I didn't need metformin because I'm not insulin resistant, so I don't know how that would affect everything else.

  • Thank for all of your input @BruisBabe33! This cycle I didn't temp, but I plan to start again this cycle. I've caught O once or twice, so at least there is that. I'm on Synthroid for my hypothyroidism. They've still been trying to get my dosing right, so I may have to wait until after that is leveled out to start treatment options. It'd be nice if they could at least give me an idea of when we might be able to start.
I'm waiting until my obgyn says she can't do anything else before I go to the RE instead of the ob/endo combo.
Once again, thank you for your insight.
This board makes having crazy cycles so much easier than of I was at this alone. <3
  • Definitely bittersweet! I hope you get the answers you need when you see your doc. Prayers for you!
