WIJFR: Where She Went (NS)

I read If I Stay by Gayle Foreman and loved it. After finishing it, I knew I wanted to read Where She went. But, like with most sequels, I was slow to actually get around to it. I picked it up from the library on Saturday and finished it yesterday. I loved it. I enjoyed that it told Adam's point of view after the break up. If I Stay really took us deep into the mind and emotions of Mia. I think we could probably assume some of the things she would struggle with after the accident in the first book, so it was different to see how the aftermath affected Adam. Where She Went didn't leave me feeling broken like If I Stay did, but it did leave me crying like a baby quite a few times.

  • I heart this book so hard.  I've reread it a few times when I feel like I'm in a slump.

  • Gayle Foreman does such a great job of getting the reader to feel what the characters feel. I remember feeling like I couldn't breathe and would just break down while reading If I Stay. I had quite a few moments during Where She Went where I felt like I was in Adam's shoes and had someone walk out on me, and I could really imagine how he felt about the loss of Mia's family.

  • I just finished If I Stay, and I was concerned that I would not like this one as much as I did the first. But hearing this makes me want to download it right away so I can devour it! So I guess that will move more toward the top of my TBR list...

  • I think I'd happily read an instruction manual written by Gayle Forman.
