Monday Monday Monday!

Hello and good day.

How was your weekend? Anything exciting?

We deep cleaned the house and it feels so nice to have it really clean - well most of it. Our basement office is still not entirely organized but that's for another day.

Our small group at church now does second Sunday lunch so we all went out to eat after church. It makes a good Sunday better :-).

E- why have you evacuated the stadium 2 weeks in a row?

Re: Monday Monday Monday!

  • Morning! Nothing new and exciting to report. We got the dirt moved at my parents house, had some yummy Buffalo pizza and went home. My back hurts for shoveling dirt but it was worth it. Sunday I watched some football. The Bills lost but it was a good loss. We looked good and I liked what I saw. Tonight errands and dinner. Tomorrow we shall get the pool ready to close. Maybe use it one last time. It is also my sis 28th birthday. So hard to believe. We are old, whaaaaahhh!

Aggie: Sounds like an awesome weekend. There is nothing like a clean house.

    E: Same question as Aggie.

To the optimist, the glass is half full. To the pessimist, the glass is half empty. To the engineer, the glass is twice as big as it needs to be. - Unknown Why is electricity so expensive these days? Why does it cost so much for something I can make with a balloon and my hair? - Dennis Miller
  • Hello! I went to my mom's Friday, and ended up coming back home Saturday late afternoon. Ugh! I was planning on staying the entire weekend so I could watch the dogs Saturday night because my mom&stepdad were going away, and my sisters are never home, but my mom practically shoved me out the door saying they weren't going. Then I get back, to find out they did end up going out of town! wtf Mom!
Yesterday I did 5 loads of laundry, 3 of which were just DH's clothes. How he goes through so much is beyond me.

Aggie - I love having a super clean house, but I hate the cleaning part. hah! Also I wish my church did fun things like that! They had a small social after the Mass's this weekend, but I didn't go since I had the funeral Mass Saturday at home. boo!
Degrea - Is it warm enough there to use your pool one last time?! It's been pretty chilly here, though I heard tomorrow it was supposed to be warm again! Silly PA!

You know how they are fixing our street? Well they moved on and are now working right in front of our house. It is SO distracting!! I have a test tomorrow that I need to study for but I study at our dining room table, and it's sooo hard to focus! I should have just packed all my crap and stayed on campus. blagh.

  • My house is literally shaking because of them digging up the road out front.
Ugghhh I hope they are done soon!!!

  • The Bills loss was a good loss, Degrea.  I totally agree!!  They held in there with the Patriots.

I snuck myself into a Fantasy Football league!  Woo hoo.  Of course, I'm playing Jay this week.
    :-O

We're mudding and sanding our hallway and new bedroom right now.  We picked paint colors, too!!  Daffodil yellow for the bedroom and a light gray for the hallway.  We're getting there, slowly but surely.  I'll put up Facebook pics as we finish!
  • JLQ: Good Luck on the test and with the construction. It is suppose to be in the high 80's tomorow here. So we might get in the pool one last time. Plus it needs to be cleaned one more time before we close it for the year. We shall see!

Joy: Fantasy Football sounds like fun! I have forbid my H from playing it. He was taking it a little to serious for me. Hope you wipe the floor with Jay. Also can't wait to see pics of the new rooms. Love the colors!

  • Hi ladies!  I'm taking a break at work and thought I would come play.  Work is hectic but I need a mental break.  Blegh.

It was evacuated for lightning in the area.  Apparently if there is lightning strike within a certain distance, it is mandatory that they postpone the game and evacuate the stands (not good to have people standing on metal bleachers when there's lightning--makes sense.)  It's never happened before and now it's been two weeks in a row.  The funny/not-so-funny part is that the student section refused to leave and started chanting "Hell No, we won't go."  They had to get Izzo (our basketball coach who is like God on campus) to come out and bribe the students into leaving.  He told them that if they evacuated in a quick and orderly fashion, he would sit with them for a portion of the game which he did.

So yeah, that was our Saturday.  Thankfully this weekend they postponed it before the game even started unlike last week where it was in the middle of the 2nd quarter.  Sunday was a lazy day at home which was nice :)

Aggie - sounds like a good Sunday :)

jlq - good luck studying and good luck on your test!!

Joy - can't wait to see pictures!  And good luck against Jay

Degrea - good luck with the pool closing and happy birthday to your sister!

    Oh and it's DH's and I's 9th anniversary.  I can't believe we've been together for 9 freaking years.  That's ridiculous and we're old.

  • I can't study. My brain won't absorb any information. It's psychology, it's not like it's that important. I'm just worried that the test will be all fill in the blank questions and I won't remember any of the terms! That'd be the worst.
Thanks for the wishes of luck for my test! It's tomorrow at 12:30, so send me all your brain power then! haha.

EEE! That's crazy about the lightening. I mean it's good they are taking the safety of the people there into concern. What happens to all these postponed games? Do they just play them at a later date, or wait a set amount of time between lightening strikes then continue?

Joy - I like the sounds of the color you picked! Can't wait to see it! Good luck with your fantasy team. My DH never got into that, which I'm thankful for, I don't think I could handle it.

  • Not that any of you care, but it amuses me a lot so I'm going to share. The new girl that I trained at my job before I left to start school quit at the end of last week! HAH! She lasted a total of 3 full weeks. That is just so sad.

  • The rule is you have to wait 30 minutes from the last lightening strike to resume the game.  So each game was delayed about 1 hour and 15 minutes and they resumed it that day.

E: That make sense. Hopefully the next home is without lightening. Hope work calms down some for you. And Happy Anniversary!

JLQ: Did they say why she quit?

  • E - Well that's good that the games continued that same day!

Degrea - No, a resident is who told me she quit, so I'm not sure why. I'm going to go in to visit this week though, so I plan to get the scoop then. I almost called to see if they needed shifts filled, but then I  thought, if they haven't already called me they obviously don't want me filling in. I'm still on the payroll for PRN use, but no one calls me when they have call offs, which I'm sure is happening all the time still.

  • Ahh gotcha E. Your first post made me think someone in your group got forcefully removed from the stadium. Lol! I have experienced the lightning evacuation. Actually my first date with H (the 2nd time around) was to a football game with a lightning evacuation. I somehow doubt H remembers that :-P.

And can I just say I would like the other drs to stop taking vacation. It will be basically a month and a half with someone gone. Which makes my schedule that much busier. In short, I don't get to drop in her as much. :-\
