Clomid CDs 5-9 vs 3-7

Does anyone know what the difference is? The nurse told me we're doing CD 5-9 of Clomid instead of 3-7 and I didn't even ask because I've heard of people doing days 5-9. Is there any reasoning for the two different sets of days?

Anywho, we're up to 150mgs and I start today. The hot flashes should be lovely considering I wanted to stick my head in a freezer on 50mg and jump into a frozen lake at 100mg.

Re: Clomid CDs 5-9 vs 3-7

  • I think it has to do with your regular cycle/when you ovulate/how long your period normally is etc.  But I've heard that some doctors just have a personal preference, but studies show it doesn't really make a whole lot of difference.

I've done both and was told it's just the doctor's personal preference.

I hope the weather has cooled down where you are to minimize the hot flashes. Fx for you!

Edited to delete my smiley. It turned out as some weird face.

  • Dr. Y likes to change it up. The fact that she is still keeping you on this protocol is really encouraging. She does not like to waste time and will straight up tell you if she doesn't think it is worth while. I hope you are still happy with her! Good luck this cycle! Crossing all my crossables for you!
  • Ditto PP. I think it's just personal preference. That's why my RE said when I asked. I'm 5-9 too.

  • Good luck. I hope the side effects are not too bad this cycle.

Hopefully, you don't need to think about the injectables, but I just did an injects cycle and they are not that bad. FX! :)
