Okay, ladies. I need you to chime in here. I can't get a straight answer from anyone about this book. A friend loaned it to me and it's just sitting on my shelf because I've heard so much hate for this book. I really hate wasting time on bad books or books without satisfying endings. Do you say YAY or NAY?
I write sexy books. I read all the books. I love dresses & macarons.

  • I agree with @MrsJenE! And I totally hated it. And some of my friends LOVE IT. It's one of those books you have to read for yourself to decide.

  • I really liked it. I think the reason people hate it is that they don't like the main characters, not that the writing is bad or anything like that, if that helps. I say read it with an open mind and report back to us.

  • I loved it.  I didn't like the ending at first, but the more I thought about it, the more sense it made.
  • It took me a long time to process this book but I finally decided that it was pretty F*ing brilliant.  I love that the author didn't go for the obvious (satisfy the readers) ending.  I love that she went and did something completely different and original and went against the grain so to speak.  I thought it was perfect.

Gillian Flynn is a wonderful author and can write an amazing twisted story.  Sure the characters are unlikable but that is the whole point of the book.  They aren't supposed to be likable.  Once you can grasp that these people are sick individuals, I think you can actually enjoy where the story takes you.
