WIJFR: The Girl You Left Behind (NS)
This was a solid 4 star book. I loved the beginning most of all - and eventually I came to love the second narrator when the story shifted to 2006 - but I hated that little piece in the middle where I had to let go of the story I had come to love in the beginning and get settled into another story. I don't know what it is about books like this that switch between past and present, but it always annoys me. This even happens in one of my favorite books and it still annoyed me then. I always want to get back to the *other* story, even if I love them both (which I did, in this case).
It was terribly heartbreaking. I was expecting to cry, but somehow I didn't - though I teared up a bit at the end. But. It was lovely for most of the ride. Well written and the characters were wonderful.
