1 year anniversary!

So, what is everyone planning? DH and I are going to Harpoon Brewery Octoberfest in VT for the road race and camping with some friends, should be fun!!! (this is actually the weekend after, our anniversary is on the Monday before...he better plan something for just the two of us!) And...I can't wait to eat the top of our cake! ( i hid it in the chest freezer or it would never had made it this long!)

That sounds so fun! My husband was born in VT but we live in Indianapolis. We are doing a "staycation" and visiting sites around Indy, doing some nice dinners, and staying at the hotel we stayed in on our wedding night. (Trying to save up for a house, pay off some debts, etc.)

We are going on a weekend getaway to a nearby city. It's like a rustic lodge style resort/hotel. There's a ton of activities we can take part in if we want or we can relax and get massages and spa treatments. Should be a good time.

This is what we were thinking about doing, but we need the where and when... we should probably do that tonight.

we rented a cabin for the weekend out in the country (Laurel Highlands, PA)...about two hours from us. SO EXCITED! We are planning on visiting Falling Water while we are out that way. Then on Sunday, the 27th (our actual anniversary) after we check out and head home we are going to celebrate they way we always do...re-creating our first date (which was Oct. 27th, 2007...we got married on our 5 year dating anniversary!) so we will be seeing a scary movie and going to Eat n Park, lol. we've done it every year for our anniversary.

I would love to do something exciting but we can't really. I'm not even going to be able to sleep next to my husband that night. I took the weekend off of work so I could go to RIT's alumni type event in Rochester but we can't even do that! October 12 is MIL's birthday (65th) and she has planned a whole big dinner we have to go to. I'm off Sunday, so maybe I can convince DH to go to Syracuse for the day. I probably can if I tell him we can eat lunch at Wegman's! On Monday, we will probably head to Saratoga where we got married to spend part of the day (and then I will come home and nap before work). Our NICU is moving to a new area of the hospital (brand new) and that is happening in the early hours of the morning on 10/15. They need lots of staff to get the move done!

We just booked tickets to go see Wicked in NYC. My mom will take the baby over night so we can also go out to dinner and then pick her up the next day! On our actual anniversary, the 13th I have a baby shower to go to:(

On the 12th we're going to a West Point football game with my brother, SIL and the fire department. My brother is a firefighter. They have a huge tailgate before.

We may stay up there in a hotel and then come home at some point on our anniversary. I'd like to do a nice dinner at some point, preferably on the 13th. I am also DYING to eat my cake. There was one point this summer where I was pretty close to cutting off a slab and saying "Whoops!"

Well we aren't celebrating tomorrow, but I get my present tomorrow, which is going to see Mumford and Sons in Atlanta!! I'm super excited. I don't know what we'll do for our actual anniversary. We were hoping to go to Asheville the last full week of October because I'll be on fall break then, but I don't think we'll have the money. Also, all of our friends who were going to go too (yeah, super romantic trip with friends!) can't, so we've decided to put it off. Maybe we'll find something else cheap to do.

You have no flipping clue how insanely jealous I am!!! I'm obsessed and addicted to Wicked!! Have you ever seen it before? I've seen it 5 times and seeing it on Broadway is on my bucket list. Too bad I've never even been to NYC. I'm hoping to see it again in the spring when it comes close

so cute! we always go to UNOs b/c that's where we went on our first date!

(he thought it would be cute b/c i'm from chicago and had no idea anyone really from chicago makes fun of it and goes somewhere better...haha)

we are going to Niagra Falls for the weekend- the Canada side! i got a great rate for a hotel right on the falls! neither of us has ever been and we are super excited! we are driving out super early Friday ( its about a 6 hour drive ) and driving back Sunday night!!!

Apparently H is planning something. We've been in a bit of a rough patch lately and so we desperately need to decompress just the two of us. We're thinking either Niagara Falls (also on the Cdn Side) or a bus tour or camping. We didn't get to go on our honeymoon so this is like a two-for-one.

We leave the day after our anniversary for a 7 day cruise to Bermuda! Can not wait! H started freaking out recently about not being able to go on big vacations for a while after kids so we are squeezing one more in before we start TTC :-)
