Who have you told you are TTC?

We've told a few people, but DH has been very vocal about how he does not want to tell our families. I'm not sure why he does not want family to know though. I think it just weirds him out to tell them about it. Each of us are very close to our parents.

I don't know if DH has talked to anyone about it except bringing up with my dad and BIL when we were visiting in July that he had to get tested (I wasn't there for the conversation and I didn't really ask how it came up or what exactly he said). Other than dad and BIL, my sister and stepmom know (stepmom because dad talked to her about it), and 4 of my closest friends know.

I clicked the "A few people (under 5)" option because I haven't specifically told my mom that we're TTC and I don't know if DH has outright told his parents about any of it, so I don't really consider our "parents" all knowing. If his SA results come back abnormal, then we (I) might talk to my mom and his parents.

My sister is the only one who knows right now because we talk daily and I literally tell her everything . We have discussed telling our parents after a few months because we know they'll be curious, but both sets are too polite to ever ask. We're both close with our parents and I'm sure if a few months went by and nothing was mentioned they would know something was up.

We've shared with a few of our close friends and a couple other family friends that we knew went through IF. Neither of our parents know, and we don't plan on telling them for a while. FIL has too many opinions he likes to share, and we just don't want to hear them. My mom also feels that once she knows something like this, it's okay to discuss it with everyone. Um, no.

I think between us telling our close friends and others making assumptions, a whole lot of people know. I actually don't mind that much, since the when are you going to have a baby question is asked less and less.

It's not a secret for us, however, neither of our families have ever put any pressure on us for OMGGRANDBABIESSSS and that noise. So, it is what it is. :shrugs:

We haven't necessarily told anyone, but since our first loss was so late and everyone knew I was pregnant, I feel like they all know.

I'm an open book. I don't necessarily come out and tell people, but I don't hide it if the topic arises.

I voted SS. I told people in our family first (mainly on DH's side...I just felt like they are looking at us like "what is wrong with you that you don't have a kid yet?"). I also just shared one of my blogs that I keep on Facebook and I wrote a few times about our trying to get pregnant so I guess you could say that I don't really try to hide it either.

Our immediate families know and some close friends. I know my aunt knows, too. MIL has a big mouth, so all of DH's family might know. We don't really hide it anymore because we've been married for three years and in our house for two. We told people we wanted to be settled in a house first. My friends all knew based on this before I told them.

I never felt we were vocal about the ttc, but after 3+ years we have moved on to adoption and are very vocal about "hey ttc didn't work for us, now we are adopting!" I know several people who have been matched with babies through word of mouth at church, work, etc. I figure telling people just improves our chances but won't hurt them at all!

I'm a talker. And it wear my emotions on my sleeve, so everybody knows. Plus I feel moved to educate people on infertility now that I've been through it for those who are just beginning the journey and don't have a strong enough voice

DH and I decided to tell no one other than my best friend (and i will therefore assume her H who i am also good friends with)...since then, DH has proceeded to tell everyone we interact with that we stopped trying to prevent in July. EVERYONE Luckily he has kept his mouth shut at family things...and i know it's because both sets of parents are grandkid crazy! and he knows his mom really can't keep her mouth shut. i know he shares this with strangers because who will they tell? and he's excited...but I am worried that our mailman will know before our parents when I actually am pregnant!
