  • I was just going to post this.

    It's slippery as waterweed.
  • I'd also like to add that this isn't a big shock.

  • This one didn't get nearly the buildup and press that other YA books-turned-movies have gotten and are getting, so I'm not surprised at the flop. I saw it and while I didn't hate it, there wasn't anything remarkable about it either.

  • yeah, I have not seen any good reviews of that movie.  My students were super disappointed in it.
  • Then: I was super excited for this movie.

Now: I have yet to see it and probably won't.

I'm kind of disappointed about 180 turnaround.

  • Didn't @EliStar and @Hoycie go see this movie? Wasn't utter disappointment the overwhelming feeling coming out of it?

(Or am I thinking of another movie?)

Utter disappointment would aptly describe how we felt about this movie.

When June told me this yesterday my reaction was extreme and unbridled SHOCK. #sarcasmfont

  • I haven't read these books, so keep in mind that I had no expectations going into this movie. I found it cheesy and contrived. It was so poorly done that when I left the theater, I had no desire to read the series. My friends keep insisting that the books are awesome, so maybe I'll give them a try, but yeah. Not surprised that the film was a bust.

The books are not awesome in my opinion. But, hey, you may feel differently.

  • I think this trend of trying to make every YA book turned film a HUGE FRANCHISE is going to be a bust. If the script doesn't respect the integrity of the book it's going to fail every time.

  • I just can't get over the casting.  There is not enough wine at Trader Joe's to make me think that kid is attractive.

Yep.  I'll probably get it on Redbox, but I'm still not sure if I want to do that.

  • I decently liked the books considering I have read all of them. HATED THE MOVIE.
