This one didn't get nearly the buildup and press that other YA books-turned-movies have gotten and are getting, so I'm not surprised at the flop. I saw it and while I didn't hate it, there wasn't anything remarkable about it either.

yeah, I have not seen any good reviews of that movie. My students were super disappointed in it.

Then: I was super excited for this movie.

Now: I have yet to see it and probably won't.

I'm kind of disappointed about 180 turnaround.

Didn't @EliStar and @Hoycie go see this movie? Wasn't utter disappointment the overwhelming feeling coming out of it?

(Or am I thinking of another movie?)

Utter disappointment would aptly describe how we felt about this movie.

When June told me this yesterday my reaction was extreme and unbridled SHOCK. #sarcasmfont

I haven't read these books, so keep in mind that I had no expectations going into this movie. I found it cheesy and contrived. It was so poorly done that when I left the theater, I had no desire to read the series. My friends keep insisting that the books are awesome, so maybe I'll give them a try, but yeah. Not surprised that the film was a bust.

The books are not awesome in my opinion. But, hey, you may feel differently.

I think this trend of trying to make every YA book turned film a HUGE FRANCHISE is going to be a bust. If the script doesn't respect the integrity of the book it's going to fail every time.

I just can't get over the casting. There is not enough wine at Trader Joe's to make me think that kid is attractive.
