How is the church house going? Haven't heard in a while....

Re: *heightdeprived*

  • Hey! Thanks for asking. The short version is:
There hasn't been much done on it lately. A little more demo, and I guess we did get some of the electrical redone so we can turn on lights and plug in tools without worrying that we're going to burn the place down. We have all the plans drawn up, I think they're on facebook, if you guys would like to see them, I can put pictures up here just let me know! We need a few things engineered and I think hubby is going to look more seriously into that in the coming months.

    The longer version:

Money's been kinda tight (first year or two of marriage, you ladies know what i'm talking about), and we've had the house we're living in to finish.

We're kind of on an overall payment reduction kick right now. We sold our truck, and bought a car which is about half the cost, and we've actually got the house we're living in right now for sale. Hoping to sell it, and buy something less expensive with the equity we've got in it we should only need about half the mortgage we have now so that'll lessen payments. With that, we're hoping to be able to put more money into the church. But in order to sell our house, we have to get it finished which is taking whatever extra money we've got right now.

Also, at 28 I think my hubby is having a mid life crisis haha. He's wrapping up his construction business here this fall, and going to do anything but. He likes building, but hates contracting, so I think once he's not doing stuff for everyone else all the time, he'll have more time and desire to work on our own stuff. He's looking at work in the oilfield which will help bring in more money, so theoretically, with our payment reduction plan, and more money, we should be able to really get movin on it next year! lol

    :)

  • Is the church house going to be where you guys ultimately live or is this just something you plan to sell? I'm sure you have told us before but I don't remember.
  • The plan is to reno and live in it and stay there. It's gonna be pretty awesome! Be our 'forever' home.
