Who's Bored?

With baby #2 on the way, we need to move Lucy upstairs.  This means I need bedroom furniture and decorating ideas.  Anyone want to design a room for me?  Here are the stipulations:

1)  Must have twin size or full size bed that I can attach a safety rail to and that my 30" tall kid can climb into by herself.

2) Preferably white furniture, but I'm open to others.

3) Not super girly.  I want it to look like a girl's room without it being pepto pink.

4) I refuse to amputate limbs to pay for this stuff. or I'd have bought stuff off of Pottery Barn's website.

The room itself is pretty large with 2 huge walk-in closets so extra ideas for organization/storage would be a bonus.

Re: Who's Bored?

  • Hmmm...well I am no good with links and such. We are keeping the theme for Ava Nichol's "big girl" room as we had for the nursery which is woodland creatures. It has hints of girly stuff and one wall is painted purple. We have a furniture store around here called furniture factory direct that we get all our furniture from. It has a lot of Ashley furniture which I love.

This is probably not very helpful but it is all I got. Ava Nichol is in a toddler bed, all her clothes are hung up, she has some bins with stuffed animals and she has a 9cube organizer from Target that you can put cloth bins in but we just have stuffed animals and toys in them. She also has a 3 drawer Rubbermaid drawer that holds jammies and sheets and she has a large 3 drawer organizer from Rubbermaid in the closet that holds recently too small clothes and clothes to grow in to.

I am planning on posting pictures when my mom makes her curtains

  • What about a combination of grey and teal for colors? It's not girls girl, but it's still pretty.

  • I like gray and teal, it's definitely possible. I am probably going to have a date with Pinterest this weekend.

  • We had similar stipulations with Delilah's big girl room. And I ended up going with gray walls and bringing in color with the fabrics. Here are a couple pics while we were in the process. I still need to decide on artwork.

I got the bed, curtains and pillow from Ikea, the green dresser off Craigslist and splurged on the bedspread from DENY designs but figured that was ok since everything else was inexpensive.
