Did any of you do the baking soda test to see what sex the baby would be?  If so, was yours right??

I'm compiling a list of Old Wives' Tales and DH and I were going to do them in a few weeks.  I know one person who did the baking soda test and it was correct.  DH was just wondering if anyone else has done it and had it be accurate.

    Do they say you can do this from early on or do you need to wait until a certain number of weeks?





    dx:  Unexplained IF (mild MFI)

     TTC since May 2011, 1 year trying, and then 3 TI, 2 IUI = BFN

    IVF #1 (May 2013):  Antagonist Protocol: 
    24R, 18M, 15F w/ICSI; 5dt of 2 early blasts, no frosties = BFN
    IVF #2 (August 2013):  Lupron Stop Protocol: 
    28R, 23M, 15F w/ICSI; 5dt of 1 partially hatched blast, 7 frosties = BFP
    EDD 5/23/14, blighted ovum (6w6d), D&C (8w6d)
    FET #1 (April 2014):  transferred 2 5d blasts = BFP

    I believe you put 2 tbsp baking soda in a cup and pee on it. If it fizzes its a boy. If it doesn't it a girl? I could have it backwards. I just learned about this this weekend.

    I wonder if you'd test differently now that it's later in your pregnancy.

    Okay, I tried it.

    Are we talking science class volcano fizz or tiny fizz?

    If I held it to my ear (don't judge me...lol) I could hear fizz, but I couldn't see fizzing

    This post is amazing.  It almost motivated me to go to pee in a cup and listen to it... but what if I have one of each?? I don't want to get off the couch unnecessarily!
