Does anybody else still use PaperBackSwap?  I keep trying to remind myself to use it for books that I'm not in any rush for, but mostly I send books out and accumulate credits.

I feel nostalgic thinking back to the old days when we'd post books that we were going to list in order to give each other priority.

Re: s/o PBS

  • I want to get back to it. I put my account on hold because things were too chaotic. But now that we're settled after the move I would like to get back to mailing out books I don't want and getting some more credits.
  • I have so many credits but I never get any books off my wishlist. It's really disappointing. I sort of gave up on it.

    :(

I feel like I always have to buy credits when something on my wishlist comes up, cause I honestly can't remember the last time I mailed one out.
  • My mom uses it for all of her books! I don't remember the last time I sent or received one though.

  • I got sick of the constant ebb and flow. I wouldn't mail out anything and then I'd get requests every three days for two weeks. Annoying.

And, my book budget got slashed to basically nothing when I started SAHM, so now I'm a library girl. :)

He's Luke Bryan, a (totally hot) country singer.

  • No one wants my books.  They are ones I didn't care for anyway.  I think I have two credits to use, but nothing I want is available and I don't feel like waiting on a list for them.

  • I posted a bunch more books on PBS last night, I'll see how they go. Tonight I think I'll see how long the wait lists are for books that I want. I'm trying to stop spending money, so maybe I'll be able to get back into this along with the library and stop buying books.

  • I gave up on it. There are books on my wish list that have been there for years.

Yeah, most of the ones I listed will probably get donated or something. A lot of them I've picked up at yard sales or used book stores thinking that I wanted to read them, but I have like 7 Dean Koontz books and I learned pretty quickly that I'm not into Dean Koontz, lol.
I have 11 credits at the moment, I'll see what the wait lists are like for a few books but I usually end up donating the credits too.

What are your names on PBS? I'll start browsing. I have a bunch of credits to use.

Yes! I thought he looked familiar. A bunch of his songs are in my country playlist.

  • My mom still uses it to get my 10 year old nephew books. He gets to sit down and "shop" and pick out whatever books he wants- she said that the middle grade options are really great. I don't use it any more, but if any of you have kids that may want to shop for free, that's an idea! :)

  • I gave it up because I was way too lazy about sending books out.

  • Occasionally I will get a request. A lot of times I'll search for a book Brandon mentions, and I've used them for prepaid postage mailing non-PBS books to Kayla.

As far as waiting years on wish list books... I just scored a nearly mint copy of Where the Sidewalk Ends. It's been on my list for 4+ years.

    Im ceresas on there too
  • All of my books are super old and no one wants them. I'm probably going to end up donating them to the library or to the Salvation Army.

  • I stopped using it when I started going to library sales. Our library does a pretty decent one a few times a year and it's cheaper to pick up a book there than to mail one for a credit.

    ::kisses::

I joined not all that long ago and had 2 of my books requested right away. I've only gotten 1 book from it (one of the Aurora Teagarden books) and currently have 4 credits but I'm way way down on the list for the few books I've requested. It seems like everything I look up either isn't on there or has a huge list.
