GTKY: Glasses

Do you wear glasses or contacts? If so how long have you had them?

Re: GTKY: Glasses

  • I do wear glasses and since fifth grade! Since I hit 30 its gotten worst I need them for almost everything but typing and reading. I am going to look into contacts next visit! I hate glasses!

  • I wear contacts. I've had to since 6th grade. My eyes got worse the first few years but lately they've remained the same... fingers crossed that it stays that way!

  • I have had glasses since 8th grade but I got contacts then since I wanted to be comfortable with them once I started high school. Then it got to where I really only needed them to read and it wasn't a huge deal so now I just wear glasses when I need them.
  • I've had glasses since 8th grade. I started wearing contacts in high school but when I got pregnant, my body rejected them. Weird I know! So I had to wear glasses through my entire pregnancy. Now I'm back in my contacts but I don't wear them at night or on the weekends if we're just hanging out.

  • I have had glasses since the 2nd grade but switched to contacts in 8th grade. I wear my contacts all the time, and hardly wear my glasses. I just hate waking up an not being able to see but always bring my glasses with me on trips just incase something happens.

  • Glasses since grade 6...I wore contacts for 3 years in my late teens and then my eyes rejected them out of the blue....now I get free (trial)10 pack single use ones for special occasions and glasses the rest of the time.
  • I've worn glasses since I was 4.5 and probably needed them for at least a year before that. I did wear contacts for a little while, but my eyes are really dry and don't like them.

  • I don't wear either! I have perfect eyesight (sorry). But my h wears glasses.
  • I started with reading glasses when I was 14 and then when I was 21 I got ONE contact in my right eye. Then, after the sample one, I got my first box and I swear it was wrong, they swore it was right, and I was away at college so it would have to wait a few months to get figured out. Then I developed horrible hives from my allergy shots and it wasn't so important that I wear the contact. I mean it helped me see distance, but I can still see without it.

One eye sees better close up and the other sees better further away. I see expensive contacts or bi-focals in my future.

After neglecting the dentist for years and learning my lesson, I think it's time I venture back to the eye doctor...
