Rants and Raves

Remember when we use to do this on Wed. Well I think we should do it again today because I am in a mood to Rant!

Rant: I live in Rochester, NY. A small city when you look at it. It should not take 45 min. to get into work in the morning! WTF!! Learn how to drive people.

Rave: I am going to DC this weekend for a girl weekend. Wohoo! It will be good to see my GF from HS. Lots of laughs and big girl beverages will be had!

Now you go.....

Re: Rants and Raves

  • Rant: we have to redo part of our roof this weekend because the wood under the shingles is rotting! Awesomeness! Thankfully our neighbors saw it bowing in and told us otherwise our roof would have fallen in with snow with our luck!

Rave: I am almost in my third trimester! I am so ready to meet this baby! This pregnancy has been better than with ds but I'm so anxious! I'm just trying to enjoy it all and take in my last months with one child on the outside.

Rave: because my roof is caving in my dad is coming to help dh fix it. My two sisters are going to come with him to entertain ds so I can accomplish some nesting activities.
  • ::waves::  I'm having a rough time right now.  Sorry, I've been really MIA.

Rant:  We're sanding the hallway.  Some of the tape we put down between the drywall seams is showing through, which means we have to mud and sand again.  Alllllllllllllllll I want is to clean up the hallway, put all the construction shit away and LIVE IN OUR HOUSE.  I can't take it.  Work is a mess.  My house is a mess.  There's no room for anything.  My clothes are in the basement on top of dust and grime.  What's the point of cleaning if everything is just dirty again 30 seconds later?  I'm seriously on the edge.  Jay has been completely MIA for a week so isn't around to help but is surely around to make a mess (put your goddamn dishes in the dishwasher before I kill you).  On top of this, we still come home every day to the same old problems: laundry, dishes, food, clean the house.  I'm just tearing my hair out over here.  Every. single. second. is taken up by something involved and labor intensive.  Joy does not function well in this situation.  Clearly.  Don't effing tell me this project - that will take over my whole house - will take four days.  DON'T EVER SAY THAT AGAIN.  Say "Joy, it's going to take a few months.  Are you ready?"

And, this is all such small potatoes compared to real problems, like jlq's father.

    Rave: Um.  I got nothing.
  • Joy: I love you! The comment about the dishwasher made me spit water all over my keybroad, LOL! Hugs! Feel free to come here and vent any time. And if it make you feel better my SIL has been with out her master bath for 9 months and it looks like it will be at least another 6 months. Which means her master bedroom has been a construction zone for almost a year or maybe 2 years.

Echo: Stupid roof! Yea Baby! Did we decide yet between the girls names?

  • Rant: between one tech out on maternity leave, the other out because of her H's surgery. I get to pick up ALL the slack. There is a lot they do that only a Dr or tech can do but I feel like I am the only one taking on the responsibilities they shoulder. I don't need a vacation I just need my techs back! (and I don't want to sound like I blame the tech's they are doing what they need to be doing just wish the drs would help out s bit more.)

    Rave:
My husband is awesome that is all :-)

Oh my god.  I need more stories like this!  I need a perspective correction and I'm well aware of it.  I will remember this when I go home tonight, see the mess, and start to freak out again.
  • Joy: Her other bathroom took over a year to complete as well. A project that was suppose to take 2 month top babe, LOL! God Bless her because I would have called in a contractor well he was at work. I understand how hard it is when you are in the process. It has gotten so bad that I don't want to start any new projects. I just like to dream about projects, but not do them!

Aggie: Hopefully they will be back soon! That stinks.

  • I love rants&raves.

Rave: I got a 100% on my first quiz in A&P lecture! I was so happy!
Rant/Rave: I only got an 85% on my first Psychology exam, but that was the highest grade in the class. wtf.

  • Echo  - Booo roof! And I feel like your pregnancy is going super fast!
Joy - I'm sorry for your house frustrations! I would be just as upset/angry/annoyed at it all as you. DH keep saying we can buy a house that needs some work done, and I keep telling him no way because I will not be able to handle all that.
Aggie  - Sorry you're getting stuck with all the extra work at work. It's definitely not fun when you are the person picking up all the slack and doing everything. I dealt with that at my last job and it made my days hell. Hopefully it will go back to normal soon.

  • Rant: The school was having a Patissier sale today, and I couldn't get anything because I have 0 dollars. I'm sooo mad! Everything looks sooooooo good. They had breads that smelled and looked amazing! Check out this list of stuff they have:
Doesn't it all just sound delicious?!
Rave: Thankfully, they do this every 2 weeks! So in two more Wednesdays, I'm totally getting myself some awesome bread. Perks of going to a trade school. whoop!

  • @degrea: baby girl is she is one is still sort of unnamed. After me thinking I was ok with Sarah and happy I'm not. Dh is still for it but I don't love it. I'm pushing for Adalee which is another May mommas little girls name - i cannot remember her screen bame. I love it but dh isn't quite sold yet. names that have remained on the list (I made a huge list of names I didn't hate and then we cut it down) are Rachel, Ava, Sarah, Elizabeth, Therese (middle name Rose), Lily, and Adalee.

In many ways I am now hoping for a boy because his name is set - Dominic Joseph.

Oh!  I love Dominic Joseph!!  Sarah, Rachel, and Elizabeth are all gorgeous girl names.

Good luck!!  Naming a kid is hard :-)
  • Thanks joy! Last time I wasn't in love with our girl names but I think I knew all along he was a boy. This time it is bugging me so much because I am like 95% convinced were having a girl.
  • My Grandma is still mad that my name is not Elizabeth. So obviously, you should pick that. ;)
