Christmas Lists

My mom has to have foot surgery in the beginning of November, so she wants to have her Christmas shopping done prior to that.  So of course she's asking for ideas for the kids.  Brinley is easy since she seems to want everything under the sun and is really into Barbies right now, which makes the possibilities endless.

As usual I'm at a loss for ideas for Nolan--and she needs ideas for his birthday (Nov. 20th) and Christmas.

So far on his list:
Big boy bedding
Innotab (I know he's a bit young for it, but I want to be sure we get one that works with our current games and we'll save it for when he's closer to 3)
Books
Big dump truck
Tractor
T-ball set
Clothes

I've already purchased more Duplo Legos (target toy clearance!)

Any other ideas?

Re: Christmas Lists

  • Ben turned 2 in July and really loves playing with big dinosaur toys / figures as well as any and all things train related. he loves his Fisher Price Geo Trax track set with the train (I've only ever seen it at toys r us) and stuff from Chuggington & Thomas. He is a huge fan of Little Einsteins DVDs (as was his sister and other kids I know at that age)
  • i can't help with the 2 year old boy thing. but feeling a sense of dread over making christmas lists... I am feeling the impending change in weather, and from playing outside to inside and I want to purge toys bad! not bring new ones into the mix.
  • I had to go to Learning Express with H over the weekend to buy some birthday presents and I got some ideas for Christmas while browsing and watching her play. Maybe take N on a shopping trip and see what peaks his interest?

  • I was thinking of Christmas last week and I think I'm going to implement the 3-gift rule this year. I do well with bargains and such, but then we end up with toys we haven't even opened yet - like the drawing board stand and tool bench the boys got last year. Between deciding to move and the lack of space (our rental house does not have an extra den / family room to call "the boys' room"), I'm just over "stuff"!

What about the Fisher Price camera or a Hasboro game like Gator Golf or the Seal ring toss game?

TRU just had a good sale on Fisher Price toys - buy one at $29.99 and up, get another free. I bought a few bigger items for Sean's 1st bday and Christmas - which are only a week apart.

    My three sons!

  • at 2 years old my son liked play kitchen (your daughter probably already has one though), workbench, vacuum toy, doctor set, anything related to music (keyboard, horn, etc)
  • We got Logan a play kitchen and we're going to ask people for play food, shopping cart, etc. I really, really wish when you asked people just to give him money for his 529 college savings plan they'd do it. The last thing in the world our house needs is more toys.
