I Must Be Nuts

This is what my weekend is going to look like.

Friday: Happy hour with coworkers right after work, then catching the train home, sprucing up, and driving 45 minutes to a promo event from 10pm-12am.
Saturday: Drive home (my friend lives right around the corner from the promo location, so I'm crashing there) and work on massive freelance assignment, then work another late-night promo event.
Sunday: get up early for another round of promo events (Bloody Mary = daytime promos), then get home and continue working on freelance assignment.

The freelance gig isn't all due until 10/7, but with limited hours, I'll need to chunk away at a little of it pretty much every day to get in completed on time. Seriously...what was I thinking??

  • Sounds like fun! But that's probably because I don't HAVE to do it. Yup, I'd say you're nuts.

This is exactly why I do this stuff to myself, haha! I'm not going to see the checks for any of this work for weeks, but they'll invariably come when they're most needed, so it'll be worth it in the end!

@seahorse01, I quite enjoy a good lazy day lying on the couch, too. I'm already mourning all the Netflix I won't get to watch.

Anything special or fun that it's going toward?

Usually what helps me is to break it down into pieces. X amount of $$ means 1 student loan is paid off. Or we get to go out to that nice restaurant for dinner. Sometimes breaking it down even further helps. X amount pays for an appetizer at said restaurant, main entree, etc.

    Have fun!

  • @brij2006, most likely the freelance check will go toward Christmas gifts, since I'll likely get it toward the end of October/November. I'm also considering putting part of it toward an extra car payment. The promo checks go toward whatever we want/need them for at that moment. It depends on how many events she pays in that particular check.
