This is my life (part 2)...

The drive-thru was not for me.

*sigh*

However, I probably work in the only building on the east coast where I am serenaded by the neighbor who is playing the recorder (every morning for a week straight..  and not as well as the kid on the Target commercial, trust me.)

When I'm lucky, though, the recorder is drowned out by a train, or it's warning bells, since we're also located right next to a train/road intersection.

It almost makes me miss my old co-workers- the ones with the hideous laugh, hacking cough, sneeze attacks, and the loud chewer.

Still not the desk-toenail-clipper, though.

Tell me your best cow-orker (i mean..  co-worker) story... Andddd. GO!

    Oh my!

One of my co-workers will have an apple as a snack every day around 3. She will come out of the office and smack her lips while talking and eating it. Then she sprays juice from the apple, all over, because she's talking to us. It annoys the shit out of me.  Eat your apple at your desk, and come out to ask me questions when you are finished.

  • How about bad bosses? My old boss said (in the midst of cut backs and lay-offs, mind you) that we needed to get more jobs so he could get a beach house. I kid you not. I have many more stories of this guy, but that was one of the highlights.

  • I worked for an attorney that told me " if my nanny can get me into the city on a day like this, you can certianly get here too" This coming from someone who 1. does not ever drive in the snow 2. lives 10 minutes outside the city and on main roads. Whereas I lived an hour south of the city in the country where plows had not been. 3. Her nanny also drove a 4 wheel drive monster SUV and I drove a Sebring coupe that litterally sits on the road.

So I make my way into work only to spin out on the highway and land in a ditch with the back end of my car buried in the snow bank/dirt hill, 10 feet away from the only other asshole out on the ice and snow covered road without my cell phone. So of course I had to turn my car off because I was afraid of it blowing up with the exhuast being buried in the snow/dirt. Finally after 45 minutes a state trooper shows up and lets me use his phone to call work and you know what this bitch says, " Well Im only staying for a few hours because of the weather, but I would prefer if you still tried to get here after the wrecker frees your car in case one of our Florida clients calls."  I told her no, to which she got nasty and said "well, then I hope you get approved for this unscheduled vacation day". I sure as shit am lady, I got 15 days saved up. Not another single person was in the office that day besides the receptionist only because she walks 2 blocks to work.

    Freaking lunatic I tell you.

  • So at a private office I was working in, I started a recycling program.  It was ONE bin, that I took home at the end of the week to throw in OUR recycling can.  After a month my boss came up to me and said "LOOK, I know you're "trying to save the world" and all that, but I really can't deal with this bin here, so take it home."  Yeah, the one bin was ruining her world. nice. (we live in az where recycling is not required and we're not required to separate our trash etc). (but we do have recycling bins that are picked up on residential streets)
