Disneyland :)

I'm currently in class... researching a trip to Disneyland! Multitasking at its finest. Jared has been bugging me for years to go, so I finally gave in :) We're looking at going Friday night January 10th-Tuesday morning January 14th, overlapping with our 2 year wedding anniversary on January 13th!! I'm currently looking at flights, getting Jared a flight from Seattle to Santa Ana airport and me a flight from Sacramento/Oakland area to Santa Ana and trying to meet up there. I love planning.

So that gives us 3 full days down there: Saturday, Sunday, and Monday. Currently trying to figure out what type of tickets to get.

I feel like my life these past few months has been spent on looking up and booking various flights >.<

Thanks for feeding into my distraction from class!

Now, what do you want to talk about?

  • I AM SO JEALOUS.

I love Disney! (Bet you couldn't figure that out)  I've never been to Disneyland though...but I am an avid researcher. If you want help, you can ask me! = )

WDW trips: 05/14 (1st trip! Art of Animation; Little Mermaid), 05/15 (Pop Century!). DL Trips: 12/15

  • Yes!!!! We should totally share research! I've been three times. First I was so young I don't remember. Once for my ninth birthday. And once for my senior class graduating trip, which was so packed I barely could ride anything! Jared went once when vary young and once for a band trip in high school It's definitely time to do it right! With three full days there and as adults who can make their own plans haha. Have you looked up hotels yet? That's basically all I have left. Nothing booked yet but still mapping out the flights

  • Disneyland is expensive! Honestly, getting 3 day tickets for Jared and me are probably going to cost similar to what we'll be spending on flights and hotels!

  • Well I haven't exactly done a ton of research on Disneyland. Our trip in May is to Disney World in Orlando. BUT I love planning trips and all things Disney. I'm sure I can find the right resources to help you out if you'd like ; )

I have the same feeling about Disneyland. I've been to WDW once as a junior in the marching band. T has never been.

    Someday we'll get to DL!

  • I'm currently looking up an inexpensive hotel for 4 nights near the Disneyland entrance haha. If you REALLY want to plan, you could help if you'd like ;) haha

Here's the disneyland map. The main entrance is (I believe) off of S Harbor Blvd right between California Adventure and Disney Park :) We'd be happy with anything less than a mile away, so walking distance :)

Found one called the Candy Cane Inn...within walking distance or has a free shuttle to DL....159 per night.

    What's your budget range? = )

  • My budget range for hotel is hopefully a place with a bed and four walls that's within walking and cheapest haha. I hate spending $520 on tickets alone, so would love to save as much as possible on the hotel. I'm currently looking at Quality Inn.

So when I go through their website, I get 4 nights for $75 a night. But when I got through the disneyland website (quality inn is a "disneyland good neighbors hotel") I get $67 a night. I feel like I'm missing something. Do you mind checking the disneyland link? To see if I'm missing something? haha

You just need to click on "reserve room only"
It's coming up to $270 for 4 nights. Please let me know if this is true or I'm going crazy haha

  • Randomly-clean out your web browser history.  Sometimes they track you and up the price each time you visit to check price.

Also, ebates gives you 3.5% back.  That would be another 9.75 off the price.  I feel like a spokesperson this website, but I promise I am not!  I just love saving money.

And plus also...can we find a promo code?
  • haha thanks! both quality inn's website and disneyland's website pricings have been the same so far. I'm just surprised that booking through disneyland, I'm finding quality inn prices cheaper haha. I'll definitely check out ebates!

    I know.....:)

I'm just upset as I really wanted to drive up to do Disney when we were in Florida and 2 days at Disney would have cost me more than all the other costs combined for my 4 day Bahamas cruise.  My children if I ever have any may never see Disney unless we happen to pass a Disney cruise ship.

  • The thing about disney is it gets cheaper the longer you go. If you go for a whole week, it costs a whole lot less per day. So the best way to go to disney is to plan a week trip.

Cheaper per day, yes.  Cheaper overall, no.  Also didn't have the time at the time to make it a longer trip and nor will I for some time now. :(

  • I have never been to Disney.  P went to Disney World when he was 8.  We would love to take our kids some day.  But we'll see if we can afford it.  It might just be something P and I do once the kids are out of the house or something.  LOL.  Or a Disney cruise with kids??
