Vent: Heads are going to roll

Over the past two weeks, this car dealership in our area has been calling me asking for "Melissa" who has put in an information request about a car. They call at least once a day. Sometimes multiple times a day.

I have left 3 messages for them and spoken one-on-one with them more than 5 times saying, "I'm not Melissa, remove this phone number from your record."

And yet, still more calls. I am officially pissed. I tried blocking the number but it is several different people calling from different lines.

This has to stop before my pregnant self ends up physically at the dealership (which isn't close to where we live) and screaming at a manager.

  • I say scream, but who really wants to drive there and yell at them.

  • Ugh that's so annoying. I hope they give up and stop calling soon.

  • I think it's ok to just simply hang up. It's not a big deal. Being pregnant isn't a license to be a bitch. It's really not a huge deal to keep getting a call from them. Why not just say that you are Melissa and that you aren't interested or bought a car elsewhere? That's what I would do after the first couple of calls.

  • @carcrashheart While I agree with you that being pregnant isn't a license to be a bitch, nothing in what @pennstated912 said made me think she's been a bitch up until this point. Asking them to stop calling numerous times and not getting anywhere is frustrating. Honestly, I think she has a right to be just a little bitchy if, after repeatedly politely asking them to stop, they keep calling... and that has nothing to do with her being pregnant. It's rude of a business to keep calling after being asked to stop. And sometimes, the only way they will stop harassing you is to be a little rude back.

  • That's beyond annoying!  I just wouldn't answer and it will eventually stop.  Going there or yelling on the phone is just going to get you more agitated, and I bet it won't lead to the calls stopping!

  • @PinkinProvence - I didn't answer for 4 straight days and they called me everyday, each time leaving a message for this mysterious lady (my voicemail starts out, 'Hi, this is Kathleen...' Not Melissa). First day, they called twice. By the fourth day, they called 6 times. It's been this week where I've been pushing back.

  • I would pick up the phone, pretend to be Mellisa and say you bought a car at another place.
