What's on your nails?

PIP your nails.

The dark purple is Gabrielle from Julep, and the light is Helen by Julep.

They're really splotchy though. They always look good until I put my topcoat on, then it takes hours to dry fully and gets touched. Maybe I need to change up what I use (Sally Henson Diamond Strength). What do you ladies use?

Re: What's on your nails?

  • nothing but i'm getting them done tonight so this post will be great inspiration!
  • Mine are naked but I'm deciding on a weekend color. I use the same top coat as you, @brij2006, but mine dries super fast, so I'm not sure why yours takes so long.

  • Still wearing my Tru from Zoya. It's lasting better than any polish I've ever put on myself!!

As for topcoat, I've been using Essie's No Chips Ahead lately. I also have the Sally Hansen Base & Top Coat, but I've only been using it as the base. With either one, my nails do still stay "impressionable" for quite a long time after I've done them. I sat on the couch watching Netflix for over an hour after I did the top coat and still got a little bitty ding in one of my nails (yes, I obsessively notice those tiny imperfections).

    It's a Julep, but I can't remember which one.

I use one of OPIs rapid dry top coats right now, can't recall the details.  I am worthless today.

I've got Zoya pixie dust in Tomoko on right now.

ETA: I typically use Seche Vite for a topcoat. You can apply it while your polish is still a bit wet, and it dries very quickly. The only downside is that it sometimes causes a bit of shrinkage at the tips.

  • caseyandlizzie - I think that is correct.

Okay the Pixies- do you like them?  I have one and I absolutely hate it.  Hate how fast it chips, HATE removing it.

  • @seahorse01, I LOVE the pixie's. I've had this one on since Sunday and it hasn't chipped at all. The polish has slightly worn down at the tips of my index and middle fingers, but aside from that, no issues. I also don't find it any harder to remove than other glitters. Maybe your polish removing skills just suck?

  • @seahorse01 Do you use regular nail polish remover, or acetone?  I find that the acetone cuts through the glitter polishes better.

I've got Essie cashmere sweater on. I wish it was as sparkly on as in the bottle, but if still love it. I also use opi rapidry, or something like that for a topcoat.
