This girl needs to vent.
I am so unhappy. I am hating my job. I'm overwhelmed, I'm stressed, and my IBS has been out of control. I've had more breakdowns than I can count. BUT I slap a smile on my face every morning and still give it my all because that's what you do. You do your job. I simply refuse, however, to pretend that everything is just fantastic when I'm not in front of my students. If I'm in the copy room and another teacher asks me how's it going, I'm not going to say, "Awesome!" Don't get me wrong, I'm not going to say, "EVERYTHING SUCKS!" either. I've been sticking with "OK" or "fine." Or the vague, "It's going." But no, I will not say it with a smile on my face. The happy-go-lucky Janet ain't here anymore, people. Get used to it. If one more person asks me what's wrong, I'm going to lose it. This is my resting face. And I don't even think it's really a bitchy resting face, so get off my back.
